Thanks to JRN156's Sponge camo thread I decided to give it a go.
All in all I am happy with the way it turned out. I decided to do it to my wife's (Jenn/Greg3'sGal here on ARFcom) Rem870. It took me a few days to figure on what colors to go with. I did the khaki base coat then I had to go from there. I tore the shotty down and decided not to paint the trigger assembly or the bolt and butt pad. 
Then on the 2nd day I thought what the hell and hit it with OD stripes. 
3rd day I hit it with khaki and OD sponge spots. I used a bout 3 pieces of sponge for the same colors as not to get a look a like sponge spots. 
It REALLY looked good! I didn't want to take it anyfurther but it was begging for another color. So I hit earth brown in random spots. I didn't want to go too heavy with the brown. 
Now it looked great! but once again it needed something. So, I got some flat black and just hit a very few spots just to give it what I wanted. then hit it with some clear to seal it up. 
Now I just got home from the range and had the camera handy to I wanted to see what it looked like in the woods. 
Not too shabby. I think it turned out pretty well. Jennifer loves it!  (that's what matters most) My friend had a hard time finding it when I stuck it right in the wood line today. It blended in pretty good. Now he wants me to do something of his.
So what does the hive think about it?

This really wasn't a "easy" shotgun to do. This was my very first present to Jennifer our first Christmas together. We have been together for 9 yrs this Oct and it is a real special thing in Jennifers life. So as to slapping the paint to is was easy but the thought of it wasn't for me. 
Oh yea, she named it "Thumper".

I can bet the shotty will be in a police lockup and I will be 6ft under. 
She is a dead nuts shot from the hip! She proved that at the KnobCreek MGS Assault shotgun comps a few years ago with this shotty. She was 7 for 7 and that was the VERY 1st time she shot from the hip!!!
She's my girl though and I love her to no end.
