Well this first complete build and was designed to be for QCB only. I was figuring 25-100 yards.   I started this back in January 2007 and it has not always gone according to plan but in the end it was worth it.  Now I just need to get it to the range.

Next will be a suppressor that is already in progress.  ETA: PICS (SUPPRESSOR IS HERE!)

All parts were bought from the vendors here including Rainier Arms, BravoCompany, Denny's Guns, SKD, Jtac Supply, BigDawg Tactical, etc.

Range report at 25 yards with the can attached.  It was too early in the morning and the sun doesn't hit the targets at 100 yards so I wouldn't be able to see it that far out without other optics.  I was however taking out the steel plate that was about 7" square at 100 yards since it was painted orange.  Pretty good for a 4MOA Aimpoint

Will do!
I must say pulling back the CH a couple times I noticed this is very tight.  Guess it just needs to be broken in.
Gonna try and hit the range Saturday.

Is that a Noveske barrel ?

Yep a 10.5".  The thing that took so long was I was waiting for a 10.5" CL Noveske barrel that they are "supposed" to make but they kept putting them off.  After waiting 15 weeks I just couldn't wait any more.  Summer would be over by the time I got it.

NicehatNever mind re-read your post (carbine).
How much did you put into it?

The VIS2 (complete upper) if that is what you are talking about is the Mid-Length.

As you see it there, about $2500.  With the Aimpoint/LT Mount & Suppressor on the way, just over $4000.00.  That will include both Tax Stamps as well.

This has been a lone time coming!  That turned out sweet.  Where are the optics?  I hope you are not waiting on them now.  Anyway, mine was first so YOU are the copy cat.  Nice job!  Now shoot the shit out of it.

AAC M4-2000 mod 07.  I have to wait for my paperwork to be re-done since my C3 dealer closed shop to civilians and is only doing LEO and Gov work now.  Allen from Polite Society is waiting for the re-transfer to come back from the ATF.  Who knows when that will come back.

Thanks guys!

I have 2 other weapons that I fooled around with changing stocks and barrels but never buiilt a stripped lower.
I like knowing I finally accomplished a complete build from nothing but parts.

Range report to follow after the weekend....

I got the last one from SKD a while back.  Good luck finding one in stock.  Everyone seems to be out of them.  I would contact WES to see if he has any.

I got an Aimpoint ML3 4MOA and at 25 yards (where I have it zeroed for) I can shoot the center out of the targets all day long.

50 yards it will shoot about 2" high but I can still get a decent grouping.

100 yards I have to put the top of the dot on the target's center mass.  I was still able to shoot about a 4-5" group.  For me that was pretty damn good for a ML3-4MOA.  I was shooting at a steel gong (9"x9" roughly) banging that thing all day long.

I was shooting all Federal AE 55g and not one problem with the rifle.  It worked perfect. I only put about 150 rounds through it so far.

Unfortunately I was having so much fun with the Aimpoint that I keep forgetting to sight in the backup sights.

Man when is that suppressor going to get here???

Oh by the way I returned my "out of spec" PRI gas buster charging handle and got another one that was perfectly strait and works great now.  It doesn't bind on the top edge of the lower receiver anymore.

since you recently put it together, how did you like the POF lower?  i just bought one at a gun show and am looking forward to completing my first rifle.

congrats on a great build!!!!

let us know how it shoots!

The POF is top notch.  I only had one problem with the lower and that was getting the magpul trigger guard to fit.  the hole in the trigger guard was off by like 1/2 a mm.  I actually had to dremmel out the trigger guard hole in order to get the pin in.

I don't know if it was the trigger guard or the lower, either way it is on now.

Updated with Range Report on First Page.

I love this suppressor!!!

About the only thing left to do is maybe add a vertical grip and sling.

I was actually surprised how well the setup was shooting with the suppressor on.  At first I thought the groups would open up, but it seems like they may have tightened up a bit.  The Noveske Barrel is the shiz-nit too.
One of these days if I go to the range after work I will try for best groupings at 100 yards.  The sun hits the targets between 2-5pm since the range is basically in a valley of a mountain.  I know the rifle can shoot better than I can.  I can always put my 3.5x15 Nightforce on, but that would be cheating - wouldn't it?
I couldn't be happier with this setup!

One note:  I took a few of the NHMTG 20round mags that I recently bought new with the black plastic follower.  They would not fit in my lower.  I had to use a D&H 30 round mag.

I'm in love with the VLTOR/POF marriage, my first build is almost complete; and it as well sports this holy grail of a combination

All the instructions for filling out Form1 say to send a check or money order. If they took Discover, like here, I'd probably have one.

That looks exactly like what I want to build except I want to do a 14.5" barrel with flash suppressor to stay legal.  I think I can get it done for around 2000 bucks with no optics.

All I have of that one for now.  I did a DD rear sling plate and a rail qd w/ a sling but no pictures.  Still waiting on LT to make a throw lever tango down vertical grip.
