Any one ever use the GRSC bayonet mount light rail? Curious as to how well it works. Any input both positive or negative would be helpful. Will post a pic later this am after I get home from work.
Trying to decide between the GSRC and Custom Defensive Products BLAM rail. The BLAM seems to be of better quality than the CAA or Mako; anyone ever install and use one of these? Feed back needed. 
edit for pics..... sorry about the slight change in the post ..... I was at work last night and couldn't get all the post in from my handheld. Thanks in advance for any feed back

I've been using the BLAM with a Streamlight TLR-1, and really like it. It's well-made, puts the light in a handy location, and the side-mounted sling loops work better than my AR's original bottom-mounted loop.
Minor problem: The BLAM is intended to be secured with a second screw, which runs through the hole for the original sling rivet on the rifle barrel. On my particular rifle, the rivet hole didn't quite line up with the tapped holes on the BLAM. However, the BLAM's other setscrew holds the mount very securely by itself, and I could always run a safety wire or small cotter pin through the rivet hole as an alternative - although I haven't felt the need. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. |

Thanks for the input on the BLAM. It looks like a solid mount; I'm going to give it serious consideration. It appears I have two excellent options right now. Lapp_Dance, Thanks as well for your input on the GRSC mount. I have ruled it out for now, in part, due to your critique and your mention of the Cross Tac Cletus. That mount has the potential to resolve a few hurdles for me. CrossTac Cletus I'm going to give both company's a call later today. Thanks again. |

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Just spoke to Dan at Custom Defensive Products and he believes you have one of the earlier models. He said initially they made these to fit a Colt FSB thinking mil-spec was mil-spec ... he laughed. They have loosened the tolerances so that the newer mfd BLAMS should fit most all FSB from the major AR platforms. He wants you to call him and he'll exchange yours for a new one. I placed my order for a BLAM with the sling loops. I really liked the Cletus mount because it had a little more real estate to mount on ; but once you installed it you would have to use a punch to get it off. The BLAM removal is a much simpler process. It was also a little less expensive; compared to the cost of the Cletus with a ring attached. Plus, you can't argue with CDP's customer service. I'll post some pics once I get the BLAM installed. |
Well, got the BLAM in yesterday and mounted it. Very cool Need to pick up a 30mm scope ring so I can mount my SF G2. I have a samco adapter but it is a little tight on on all picatinny rails; it'll work in a pinch but would rather have a ring made for the rail. Heres a few pics.
