I am trying to solicit only information about your PERSONAL experience with this ammunition. If you haven't used it, then please don't clutter up the thread. Information about proper functioning (or lack thereof) is obviously the most important, but factors such as the accuracy or other peculiarities you've noticed are informative also. If you have had problems with this ammo which were severe enough to cause you to stop using this ammo, then please describe them. And one more minor request: keep your reviews objective.

I have shot approximately 2,000 rounds of this ammunition without any problems. Firearms were a LMT and M4 Carbine (PAWS receiver); both with a 14.5-inch barrel and shot on semi and full-automatic fire.
I experienced no stoppages or malfunctions; empty bass cases were carefully examined and there were no excessive pressures, blown primers, or case deformations / markings. Accuracy was average; 2 – 3 inch spreads at 100-yards.
This is not match ammunition but good quality average Joe ammunition

I have shot the 2000 (600 rds) and 2004 (160 rds) dates in two Colt M4 carbines and a Gov't carbine. I had AIM replace 45 of 1000 of the 2000 for serious defects, they sent another 100. The ammo shot fine in Semi and FA.

DocD
About 300 rounds through my Bushmaster M4A3, not one problems with feeding, firing or extracting. 5 shot groups easily covered by a quarter at 75 yards kneeling. I would buy more in a heartbeat if it was available, my carbine likes it...

glocktex
Several hundred rounds through my RRA without a problem. I love this stuff. Too bad you can't get it anywhere anymore.

defenderhome
I continue to find bullet seating depth variances all over the place with this stuff! I have a case with an "s" shaped split all the way through the neck area I caught on loading inspection.
I have shot a few boxes with good results and bought a 500 rnd case that I have not messed with much--just stuck in to ammo cans except for a couple of boxes and the results above. I like the price but the consitency is absent. I am not a basher but I have not had good luck thus far as compared with Fed xm-193 and the Guat.

Ohio47Woodsman
Bought the 1999 headstamp.
Works fine thru my Colt 20" H-Bar and RRA 16" Carbine.
No external problems with cases: all clean, shiny, and appear to be well-made.
Groups average

Bought 3K of ADCOM. 1/3rd being 99 dated stuff. Have gone through roughly 1500. Works great in the carbines but starts shortstroking in the 20"ers. The 20's work fine with 855pd...
Also, after shooting, I"ve seen a large buildup of blue stuff in my gas key and gas tube. Have no idea what it is...

KnobCreek
I have fired about 750 rounds to date. Good function, fair accuracy. HOWEVER, you should definitely check each round. I would estimate about 50-60 split or cracked necks out of the 1500 rounds I inspected. You can't just check a sample of the boxes as this issue occurs randomly.
Oh yeah, I did have two instances where the primer had fallen out after shooting. I remember because one of the primers got jammed in the groove under the bolt carrier.

Belwolf
I had a previous post on this stuff, probably in the archive. Anyhoo, major problems with primers falling out- practically every round (99 headstamp). After digging out way too many primers from virtually every nook and cranny I will never use this stuff again. I used a 20" Stag build (mil spec). If you had no problems, fine, and I know they had QC issues in '99 but I simply refuse to risk it anymore. There's better surplus out there at better prices (Guat, etc). I prefer M193 spec anyhoo.

EriktheRedd
Stuff Works Wonders in my 16"RRA m4 and my Bushmaster 20" Date stamped 02,03,04. Now I have heard reports of 99' having an issue I thinks that the Date or else some ones I.Q.(not mine)

Good stuff from what I shot, shot about 300 rounds of a 500 round case. Out of those 300 I had one FTF, no biggie probably was the rifle hadn't cleaned it in months

I have gone through quite a bit now and have experienced zero failures. Groups are avg of 2" at 100yds consistantly. I compared with the Win M855 and saw little to no variance. Average price I pay is $6.00 per box of 20. I would not hesitate on purchasing this ammo.

I got shotgun patterns out of it. This was from a Colt 20" pencil barrel that has been astoundingly accurate(1-2 MOA easy) with most everything else. Really puzzled me. I'm talking 8" groups. Won't be buying any more.

I get crappy patterns out of my Bushy and my spr build with this round I have also found some malformed/ split necks. One FTF with good pin strike. Aside from that it goes bang...

I have shot over 300 rounds in three weapons with zero failure. It was all 1999

I bought a few boxes of the 98 lot
seems on par with LC,Win M855 2 to 3 moa
Brass was nice
primmer seald and crimp
Bullet had black Tar

My 99 dated stuff has had a bunch of popped primers in my rifles. One primer even stopped the function of the rifle when it got caught in my fcg. My carbines eat it up like a dream, my 20"ers start short stroking on it after a hundred rounds or so. I believe it's been said that these rounds are a bit dirtier than regular M855.

Ran about 300 rounds of 98 headstamped ADCOM M855 through my Bushmaster 16" on Saturday ... Had one FTF (pin dimpled the primer), and we found another round where the primer had popped out after ejecting (both casing and spent primer were found outside of the gun). Will continue to use it for plinking ammo.

We've shot quite a bit. So far we've had 1 FTE. I don't know why. It was in my dad's RRA M4gery. Maybe out of spec brass? I just had to really pull on the charging handle and pop, it came out.
As far as accuracy goes, my colt 1/7 20" govt hates it. My dad's M4gery seems to like it and my Recon middy seems to like it. My brother's Fulton Legacy keyholes them. (some of you will get why that is. )

It is decent ammo. I found some of this ammo at a good price and couldn't pass it up. The ammo I bought was head stamped 99 and as stated before the primers are prone to gumming up the works. I had two primers come lose. One came lose as the spent brass bounced of my spotting scope and then another actually got into the chamber and wouldn't let the bolt close. At first I thought the new round was stuck partially in the chamber as the rifle was really dirty. I had shot Wolf, Q3131, and then the Adcom. The round count for the day was already at 800 rounds before I started using the Adcom. My buddy had a primer get stuck in his FCG under the trigger by the safety and I had to dig it out with my pocket knife. We got his gun up and running and he didn't experience any more failures. It grouped rather well at 100 yards. Mind you it is not match ammo, but it grouped similar to Q3131. As the range was closing I shot this target at 100 yards with a hot, dirty gun. 2 MOA isn't bad for being Mil-Surp ammo. This was the norm for this ammo in my Bushmaster M4A3. All in all the ammo performed as expected and I will continue to use it if I can keep finding it at $3.99 a box.

I put 120 rounds of this ammunition through my rifle today and had 0 problems. I was very pleased.

Picked up 40 rounds of 98 headstamp from the local gander as a "try before you buy" deal. It seemed to run fine in my Colt 6920. Cosmetically, I thought this stuff was very nice. My rig is zeroed for LC M855 @ 100' and it seemed that the Adcom shot slightly higher by a couple of moa. The recoil was also healthy and sharp. While swapping out mags of LC and Adcom in slow shooting strings, it seemed like the Adcom had a heftier perceived recoil vs the LC. I've been reading a lot of bad press about this ammo on this forum and I'm not sure if I'm going to get any more or not. Its hard to beat for the price though.

I bought 1K, lot # AML02M010-005. I rejected about 200 rounds as completly unshootable due to split/bulged necks, split cases, deformed cases, badly dented cases and improperly seated bullets. About 400 of the remainder were dented up, but not bad enough to not shoot. Only about 300 looked good. I've already burned up the dented stuff and all of it went bang, no blown primers or other issues. I won't be buying anymore of this stuff after it's gone. Here's a few of my favorites.

Lot #AML99M010-002. Blown and flattened primers. Extreme variations in powder charge. I have 1K rounds that are getting pulled and weighed now, will post results. At one point I believe this lot was pulled from the market, somehow it ended up back in the supply chain. I'll never shoot it again.

Lot AML98M010-001 from SG @ ~ 175 per K.
I have shot about 300 rounds (150 out of a 6920, 100 out of a 6721 and 50 from a mutt) and have had good results. Inspection while loading showed a few rounds with very minor dings but nothing was rejected. Both Colts are zero'd for M855 and this stuff was about the same POI @100.
For another $25 I can get a K of AE locally so I probably won't get anymore of the ADCOM (unless it really goes down in price) as when shipping is included, it's about the same.

approximately 800 rounds of 2004 through a 16" RRA. No problems

I have some of the 99 stuff, Im blowing primers and flattening them out of my 14.5 1/7 Bushmaster carbine.

Fired 25 rounds. 4 blown primers. One primer jammed by BCG to my upper receiver. Lots of news around the net ARFcom, etc, about inconsistent loads. Waiting still for the company to pick up.

Fired 60+ of the 98's this past weekend through a Colt R6700.
No problems feeding or firing. Recoil was a little more than I expected, but it wasn't terrible. Accuracy was ok, but nothing to write home about. Certainly not something I'd use when precision was important. Fine for plinking and SHTF in my book. More fouling than I expected.

I fired 5 boxes at 130 yard target using my Olympic 2005 Shorty. it was 2003 stuff. Nice clean stuff with no problems at all. I DID notice it does shoot a bit lower than other 23 ammo. Others noticed this fact, I see. It does bother me that some have had Serious problems with this ammo. But dealer down in Front royal VA who sells Adcom to t he local cops in large amounts tells me thye love the stuff.

Shot some of the 99 headstamp from sportsmanguide today. Shot about 270 rounds. Shot fine in my rra entry tactical. Had two rounds that sounded a lot louder than the others, kind of made me nervous, but continued to shoot anyway after making sure nothing was stuck in the chamber. I did throw out about 25 rnds that had a small crack in the neck, bullet was set to far back, or a bad ding. This forum has me nervous shooting this stuff, but hate to send it back, just crossing my fingers and trying to use up the 1,000 I bought.

I went to range today with 300 rounds and came back home with 290 rounds of this ammo. My 3 weeks old Bushy modular carbine jammed. Hit the trigger and I heard a click instead of a bang. I noticed the bolt carrier is not in full battery even after I slammed on the forward assist and I can't pull the charging handle. So, I went home with one ammo stuck in the chamber and selector switch in FIRE position (can't put to SAFE). I was planning on taking it to the gunsmith but I just can't wait so I decided to investigate further. With the help of a flat screwdriver I manage to pull the charging handle and the ammo ejected. I took it a part and nothing seem to be broken, but when I put it back together the bolt carrier group will not properly sit. It's sticking out about 1/8", that's enough to not allow the upper and lower receiver mate. After about an hour I finally found the culprit. There was a primer (guess it got separated from the casing) stuck in between the chamber and where the bolt sit. After I got that out, I finally manage to put the rifle back together properly. Function check seems to be ok and since it's already late I'll just take it back to the range tomorrow. Probably buy me some other type of ammo before I go back to the ADCOM. I got 1000 rounds of these, well 10 short.

Fired my last 40 rounds of the '98 headstamp out of a Colt M16 bbl and it all shot fine.
I have purchased a total of 2000 rounds of 98 headstamp ADCOM.
I shot 400 initially had zero failures so I went back and picked up 1600 more rounds.
I have shot another 500 rounds also with zero failures and no blown primers that I could find.
So a total of 900 rounds through a 14.5" Bushmaster without problems, this leaves me 1,100.

I fired a total of 200 rounds of 99 headstamp ADCOM through my 16 inch Bushmaster 1/9 twist.
Hot stuff. at least 1 blown primer per mag, horrible groups.
I pulled the leftover 500 rounds apart after seeing tumbleweeds pics.

I purchased 500 rounds of ADCOM dated 99 and after examining 5 boxes, I called the seller and they agreed to take it all back. One round looked as bad as any round I have seen. Brass cracked half way up with several deep gouges in metal. Looked like someone took a chiesel to it. Several other rounds had brass splits from neck to bullet. Someone knew about the defective rounds because they had painted the splits with purple coloring. They still let it be sold. I have some pictures but am not allowed to post pictures. Just thought this information should be passed around.

Ive shot close to 500rnds of the 99 headstamp with 3 blown primers out of my Bushmaster M4gery. Just picked up 300 more rounds and will continue to shoot as it is accurate. The only suggestion I can make is to inspect the rounds.

Up until today I had shot about 600 rnds of the 99 lot without a problem at all other than two rnds that really sounded louder. Thought I was doing pretty good and then today right off I had a FTF or FTE due to a popped primer that wedged itself between the case and the chamber lugs. Cleared that one shot a few rnds and then the trigger wouldn't release. Almost as if the safety was on. Come to find out a primer had fallen down in the lower and wedged itself under the trigger so that it wouldn't move. After taking the trigger out which I had never done before, I found the primer, put everything back together and went back to shooting. Wasn't long til had another primer wedge itself back between the case and chamber lugs. Cleared that, fired two more rnds and dang another primer fell into the trigger again. Had to take it apart again. Only good thing about all this was I had never taken my trigger out before and Im bout to partially build on a stripped lower so at least now I know how to install a new trigger. By the way this was with a RRA entry tactical. I've never had popped primers from this stuff before and then all of a sudden all hell broke loose. Did get this from SG, but hated to send it back. Did manage to shoot up 170 rnds so now all I have left is 400 I think. Stupid question but I did notice I had oiled my rifle a little more than normal last time I cleaned it. Would this have contributed to the problem at all or just mainly crappy ammo.

I bought 60 rounds from Gander Mtn., '98 headstamp. It shot without problems through my Bushmaster M4gery, but I noticed the bullets were all seated to different depths and the neck length of each case was slightly different, though none were out of spec. Accuracy was a little better than Wolf, IMO. Not sure if I will use the stuff again, but it is pretty cheap.

Got some of the 98 stuff at the local Gander Mountain. Only bought 4 boxes to try. I shot two boxes last weekend breaking in my new RRA Coyote Rifle, 20 Barrel. Of the forty rounds fired one had a slightly crumple neck and I didn't notice it. Lock my gun up good but a little fiddling got it out of the chamber. That was my fault for not being more careful inspecting the ammo. Other than that it functioned fine. Accuracy was not great, 2-3MOA at 100 yards. -mcb

I shot about 60 rounds of the Adcom and the last round I fired failed to eject. After I finally removed the jammed case I noticed it had a blown primer. The next mag I loaded was having light hits on the primer. after investigation I had a blown primer bits stuck into my bolt and on the firing pin. After I disassembeled and cleaned, I inspected the Adcom spent cases and found at least 3 blown primers.

I shot over 500 rounds of Adcom M885 at a class last weekend. No problems at all. I sourced the ammo from Sportsmans Guide and bought 1000 rounds. Other than the strong ammonia smell, not a single problem. ALso, I was shooting it out of a 10.5" RRA upper. All cases looked great. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.

I have run about 500 rounds of it with no problems. Since Gander Mountain has it for $199.50/1000 still, I will ocntinue to use it. I usually buy 200 rounds per week. I have shot 180 rounds of the 99 dated stuff. I visually checked it first and didn't see any reason to reject any of it.

98 headstamp about 400 rounds. out of those, had 2 with crushed case necks, 1 blown primer, about 20 with long OAL's (didnt measure) that prevented the rounds from being loaded into various magazines. would probably buy again if nothing else was available.

Recently bought a lot of about 1500 at a gun show, dated '99. This ammo is horrible as about 10% of the time I will have a blown primer which will get stuck in my star chamber or bolt. This last shooting, I shot roughly 40 or so rounds and had two complete jams, where I had to find a tool (screwdriver) to knock the primers out, had one time where it was just a FTF, and then had a total meltdown where the primer got wedged in the bolt preventing it from not only extracting the shell, but (the bolt) coming out of the gun as well. In order to fix this I ultimately had to remove the collapsible butt stock, shove a cleaning rod down the barrel and then hammer the bolt out.

I recently went through 500 rounds of both '98 and '04 headstamps with zero problems, and very decent accuracy from my 20" 1/9 Bushmaster. I will buy more (and our local GM had it cheaper than online sources when shipping is added).

So far, I've shot 200 rounds of the 98 lot and it's been fine. No changes in sound, and not rough cases. Clean and shiny. Although I will note that the bullet tip seems pointier than other SS109 bullets and m855. But it goes bang and functions smoothly.

Bushmaster AK carbine, 120 rounds fired. 4 popped primers ,several FTF and I think it was very dirty.Several of the cases looked like they were very high pressure, bright rings /gouges on the bottom of case head/rim.All went bang and ejected 10 feet or more. Accuracy was not too bad, Consistantly hitting pop cans a 100 yards with irons.

Absolute shit ammo, had about 25% out of an entire rejected due to split casings, blown primers, bullets deformed etc. Then another 30% had dented casings.

Just bought 100 rounds from my local gunshop here today. Wish I had seen this thread first. 99 Headstamp. All the brass is shiny. Noted a couple variations in bullet seating depth. 2 rounds have split necks. Haven't fired any yet and I'm hoping I'll be able to return it before doing so. I'll be calling the seller tomorrow. Should have skipped this stuff and bought more of the XM 193.

I used this ammo on my bushmaster 1:9 with a M4-2000 attached to the end. I had primers blow out into the action.

I have never personally shot any of the 90's Adcom but I have shot Mfg. dates of 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2004. 2000 and 2002 have very shiny cases 03 and 04 have the worn finish on the upper 1/3 of the round. I have shot over 500rds of it between my 16" m-4 stag and out of my 20' dpms. not one problem with the stuff. Either lucky or I got good rounds

A friend and I went in on 2000 rounds and all in all between the 2 of us we had 25 unuseable rounds. Not bad considering this was $4.99/20. Also all of it was 99 headstamp, I've shot some of it and it makes a nice loud bang in my ar with fair accuracy too.

I have shot over 600 rounds thru my 16" bushy, mostly 98 and 99 headstamp.
1 squib/FTF at the same time, the squib was luckily found when I tried to chamber another round, and it would not seat properly, I sure had a brief cold sweat when I pulled the bolt/charging handle and popped the upper off and could not see out of the other end of the barrel...
That being said, I still use Adcom, I don't do any mag dumps with it, and I will probably just finish the rest of my pile of 400 rounds or os of it.
I haven't chrono'd it, but it doesn't feel as hot as M855, but that is just how it feels to me.
Accuracy is a little worse than "average" ammo, nothing too bad, nothing to use other than for plinking...

out of about 40rnds, 2 primers popped out. both causing jams.
lot aml99m010-001. won't buy again.

1) Rifle: custom using LBC upper/lower with LMT enhanced bolt/carrier group, 18" Krieger barrel with rifle length gas system, Geissele trigger, etc.

2) 60 rounds fired (lot AML98M010-001)

One FTF, all extracted OK. Out of 60 rounds fired I popped two primers (one found inside trigger group, other found near brass on ground).

One inch groups at 50 yards were not problem shooting off of bipod/10x42 SS scope.

For $5.99 per box/20 I would consider using again but I just don't like dealing with the primer issue or FTF so I will not buy again.

Just found this thread. Headstamp says 03. Bought 500 from AIM. Fired well threw a Double Starr A2 and aM4orgery from DS also. Plus Sar 3 and a Mini 14. Only problem was in reloading the cases. Primer hole was off center on a lot of the cases. Plus a lot of flash metal inside of primer hole. Most cleaned up ok bit bent several decapper pins.

I've shot almost 2K of '02 headstamp.  Shoots clean, no issues other than some rejects upon opening of each box.  Definitely check each round before loading.  Ammo groups horrid compared to match and handloads, but it is great blasting ammo.  Hot, without a doubt, but never an issue for me.

After resizing once fired, a LOT of flash holes are off center, which would explain some of the random flies I've achieved with this stuff.

I've shot this out of a 16" RRA, 16" bushmaster, S&W M&P15T, and my 11.5" sbr.

I've had 2 rds headstamped 00 with no powder charge.

The first squibed in my 20" rifle and plugged the barrel. Had to ram it out with the cleaning rod.

I discovered the second after I had taken to weighing the ammo before loading it on clips. Pulled the bullet with a pair of pliers and found the case empty.

Understood...when Adcom was $20-$25 per hundred i liked the good years for their accuracy and dependibility  as far as run of the mill 855 went....and only 4 months ago!

Now...as all 855 has gine crazy at $45 - $50 per hundred....Adcom is not that great when priced with the rest.

I decided to pull a bullet today from a round of 99 adcom m855 with a pair of pliers. Out of bordom, I took a propane torch to the bullet since a magnet was attracted to the projectile. As expected it is a copper jacket with a steel core. I don't have access to my reloading scales to measure anything right now though. As expected I had some issues with the primers popping and shall continue to use this for range use. I stocked up when it was $4/20rnds.

I've run about 500 rds of Adcom 99 through my RRA 20" and RRA 16" with no problems.  It doesn't group well out of either rifle.  But seems reliable enough.  No primer problems or split cases yet.

I chronographed two 10 shot strings
RRA 20" SS barrel
#1 string
M=3049
E=94
S=30

#2 string
M=3042
E=138
S=43

I just got back from the range and was firing my 14.5" AR using some ADCOM Manufacturing Ltd. ammo. 5.56x45mm ball M855. made in the UAE.

out of the 60 rounds I fired about 10 had blown primers that would get stuck under my trigger mechanism.

I can't see a lot # on the boxes, but the head stamp says AD, 5.56, 99

these appear to be quality stuff. bright shinny cases, sealed primers with red sealant, no nicks or dents in the case, in 20rd yellow boxes.

I bought these on the internet from a reputable dealer.

seems to be similar to many guys here.

Some time ago I bought several K of the Adcom 62gn "M855" ammo made in the U.A.E..  Apparently there are two distinct varieties of this ammo.  Decent and not-so decent.  I have "00", "03" and "04" head-stamped ammo.  The '03 & '04 stamped ammo all looks like the following sample round with no out of the ordinary nicks, dents, splits, etc.  Nice annealing job on the shoulder and all bullets are seated to a fairly uniform depth about half-way up the rolled cannellure on the non steel-cored 62gn FMJ bullet and collet-crimped in place.  The primers have some sort of red sealant around them.  A sampling of rounds found them to be loaded to a OAL of 2.247"- 2.252" and easily load into magazines.

It is not super fast like Lake City M193 and I'm sure the bullet is not made nearly as concentric or uniform as the LC offerings.  Accuracy from one of my 16" rifle averaged about 3-4" at 100yds. Not bad for blasting ammo but certainly not going into my SHTF store either.  My Wolf/Prvi Partizan 55gn brass-cased "M193" rounds are almost as hot as real LC M193 loads and almost as accurate too.

Then there are the '00 dated rounds.  OY!  The following pics are not merely repeats of the same rounds over and over, but are all individual rounds that were culled while dumping the last ~800 rounds loose into a can from their original 20rd cardboard boxes. In the end I have >50rds that are completely unusable and potentially unsafe.  This does not count the literally hundreds of smaller defect afflicted rounds that will be shot.  IMO that is an unacceptably high failure rate.

First, take a look at the wide depth variation to which the bullets are seated.  These variances were quite common throughout all ~800 rounds with the '00 head stamp.  Also note that there doesn't appear to be much of a crimp.  And yes, the OAL does vary widely.  I measured them ranging from 2.239"-2.265", yes too long to fit into an aluminum magazine.

The following pics are the worst of the neck or shoulder defects, many of which would not drop into a barrel chamber.  For safety I used a WELL-used and plenty loosened-up spare barrel not in a rifle.

The following rounds have case wall issues.  Either dents so bad that the rounds would not chamber, splits down the side of brand new brass or what appears to be brass flaking off in layers as might nickel plating flake off of a brass case.  The latter issue greatly worries me as there is a great possibility of the brass used in the cases not being up to spec metallurgy wise.  These rounds have all been stored in airtight ammo cans with desiccant bags since the day I received them.

Here are all of them together in a bag, to be trashed:

In the end I will blast away the remaining '00 stamped rounds that I did not picture above, but the pictured rounds are being trashed as wholly unusable and most likely unsafe to shoot.

Two words: Pierced primers.  Out of my STG-556 (E4) and my old Arsenal SAM-5.  No pierced primers out of the AR, though.  Otherwise....accurate enough, but not stellar.
