UPDATE, 11/29/06 MOST ALL THE BACK ORERS ARE FILLED AND I HAVE A FEW LEFT. I HAVE CONTACTED EVERYONE I COULD REACH. IF YOU HAD ONE ON BACK ORDER CONTACT ME NOW. NEW ORDERS ARE BEING ACCEPTED.. Frank machined the F height front sight bases at CLE from forgings and are top quality. Each barrel will come with triangular front metal for those wishing to use standard Middy handguards and a barrel nut will be supplied I have some accessories available that can be purchased with your barrel. Some of the items are Delta ring assembly complete, Rock River middy standard hand guards, MI middy rail systems that install on the regular Delta assembly, many types of other rail systems in stock from LaRue, Daniel Defense and Troy, etc, etc. DIRECTLINK TO THE BARRELS The OPERATOR is a Dennys Guns/GTS exclusive. The barrel is a 16" Mid Length gas. The blanks are Rockcreek(Mike Rock). The barrel steel is Chrome Vanadium, full auto rated. These barrels are fully chrome lined, bore and chamber by US Chrome, who does Colt and most other top line tier one manufacturers barrels 1:7 twist. MP tested. Proprietary profile, mid weight with a slight taper from chamber to the gas block. Weight of barrel: 2.5 Lbs approx. M4 barrel extensions. F front sight, pinned. 5.56 NATO chamber. Barrels will be parked under the front sight base. Threaded 1/2X28(standard M16 thread) A2 flash hider included. Standard barrel nut will be installed. Delta assembly will not be included as many of you will be using rail systems and I don't want to add $$$ for parts you might not use. They are available as an option. Same with the Middy gas tube. Ok, so I was looking at global tac, and noticed that there is also a mid length "recon" barrel. Are there any major differences between the "operator" and "recon" barrels (outside of material)? Also, why is bob332 asking this listing to be deleted? Thanks Again! --Boomer |

Thanks Ellery  Time for and update. The barrels were shipped from Rock towards Frank White at Compass Lake last Friday. They should arrive in Fl this Friday and the finishing process will begin. Once the barrel extensions are in place and they are chambered, profiled etc they will be off to US Chrome for bore and chamber plating. Denny |
I'm in for a 6.8SPC as well so long as the twist rate is at least 1:10. Honestly I'd like a 1:8 to work up subsonics with heavy bullets(140-150gr). |

The Operator barrel means it's a Mil-Spec, medium contour, mid length gas system, chrome lined, 1/7 twist and full auto rated barrel. This barrel is not a standard production grade barrels, the blanks are Rockcreek (Mike Rock), chrome lined, bore and chamber by US Chrome, who does Colt and most other top line tier one manufacturers barrels, taper pinned F marked front sight, parked under the FSB, M4 barrel extensions, MPI inspected, they are using nothing but the best here. RRA are heavy profile under the handguards and 1/9 twist while Stag Arms are not mid length gas system, they are CAR gas system, 1/9 twist and Gov't profile (thin) under the handguards. 40 barrels are heading to chrome. CLE takes the first two weeks of August off. 1 week at the Nationals at Camp Perry and 1 week of vacation. When they return the finishing touches will be done on the barrels and they will be shipped to me for park and final assembly. I will get more in detail with Bunny at CLE next week as Frank will be at Perry. Denny |
Xenophobe The barrels are buttoned and hand polished. They are cut for chrome and not electropolished. The material is 4150 chromemoly vanadium. Each barrel is drilled for the provided F height from sight,. If you are not going to use the forged front sight a Larue gas block will solve the problem nicely Denny |
The barrels are in transit from Compass Lake Engineering to me right now. We have to parkerized the barrels and assemble them. That will take a few days once they come in. 14 days or less until they ship. Denny |

The Noveske may have an edge in the accuracy dept. but that is till yet to be seen by getting a fair sampling of them out there. So far my results are good. The only issue I have had with mine is groups opening up after 300+ rounds of straight shooting with no cooling off time. That is just a property of stainless. I am talking getting the barrel so hot that if you touched it severe burns would result. The Operators in the field are shooting very accurately and its slightly heavier contour and chromemoly vanadium 4150 steel will handle heavy abuse in stride. There is not, in my experience one barrel that will do it all. It is all one type of compromise or another. The determing factor is the criteria for the particular rifle. Once this criteria is established the questions will answer themselves. Denny |
The are all MPI tested and 1 in 5 is proofed and then MPI'd. Generally if a batch of steel is bad most all of the barrels from that lot will be bad. As most of you are aware we use Only Mke Rock barrel blanks for these barrel and Mike gets the best ordnance grade CMV 4150 available. This is the same steel he uses and also for the LMT line of barrels. Denny |
