[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Got my first eggs

Well there you have it. I got my first eggs today. My Golden Comets laid 3 eggs today at 18 weeks. Its about time. My buddy was just trying to talk me into frying all of them (the birds) up last Sunday.

I've been collecting eggs for a year or more and I still grin when I look in the box and see those eggs.

Congrat. I picked up 11 Monday and 7 yesterday. There is nothing like fresh brown eggs.

If you ever make pasta at home try it with your home laid eggs, the color and texture are amazing.
I cant eat white store bought eggs anymore myself.

Congrats. I was so happy when I got my first egg. Now I can't seem to find enough to do with all the ones I get now. I can't seem to give them away.

I only got one egg today. I ate all four scarmbled tonight with a tomatto cut up. The eggs were awesome. They were really yellow. Normally scrambled eggs just taste kind of plain. These had a better taste to them.

Ok. I thought 3 of my golden comets were laying. Turns out only 1 of 6 are laying. I guess I had forgot to check and 3 accumulated. She is laying 1 a day and they are getting bigger. I want to free range them but I am worried about them not coming back to their cage at dark. Basically I don't want them to get killed or run away before I get any eggs out of them.
