Lets see some pics of what you guys have made out of 550 cord. I'll start it off. Here are 3 rifle slings I have made. All have been made so that they can be slung and used as a hasty sling.

That looks awesome No thread hijack intended: The BeckerNecker is a great little knife. They stopped making them for a bit when Camillus knife company went belly up, but now they are back. High quality carbon steel holds a good edge and can be honed to razor sharp pretty quickly. Small enough to fit in your pocket. I keep it in the small zippered-sleeve of my winter coat. Also notice, it has a bottle opener at the back of the handle.

I usually keep about a 50' piece and a few (about 8 or so) 10' pre cut pieces for shelter construction in the cars as well in the GHB. Then in the man purse is another 50' piece and a few 5' for practice knot tieing when bored on the hours long tests at work, along with a SAS survival guide (pocketversion) and a few added notes on a rite in the rain pad. As for creations. I have made several braclets that I wear regularly. Basically the one found online made form cobra knots, then doubled up for king cobra knots or what not. I also modded my man purse with a larger pull on the concealed pouch. the little loop is a disaster waiting to happen.
I made a short piece of a handle using the king cobra knot and added a monkey ball on the end. Easy to find if needed. Positive retention for high stress flipper hand moments. Actually I REALLY like this bag. Picture time

Thanks guys, I practiced a bit before creating the pieces seen above (I have actually made several bracelets for friends and fellow military members), each bracelet contains approx 16-20' of cord. The 2 color bracelets use 2 pieces of 8-10' cord, where as the single coulor uses a single long piece. I got my idea from stormdranes instrucitons on line found below. The monkey fist were also his. The clips I got form creative design linked below. The good thing about the bracelets, is that they ARE usable in an emergency. The ends are just melted to the previous strand, and with a few picks of a knife or rock they come undone, but have not done so inadvertnetly. HIGHLY recommend a bracelet for any fellow campers, hikers, ect, since 20' of 550 cord can provide shelter lashing, fishing line, trap cord, and a million other uses.

Maxpedition jumbo with a piggy backed with a Anemone pouch, I positioned it so that it will not block the weapon draw at all. Nice setup, comfortable, and carries PLENTY. I had to practice A LOT with the weapon draw. I was sold after the Mil-Spec Monkey review/ video.
Bag holds my daughters diaper kit, a XD45 compact (10+1) and 2 13rd mags, a nalgeen filled with a small firstaid kit and a few other little things... MP1 tablets gang neutral hankercheif, a heatsheet blanket, ect. The Anemone pouch holds a mag block, a swedish firesteel, a waterproof match container holding a few vasoline soaked cottonballs, a rite int he rain pad, a few little pencils from the golf range, and a isreali bandage. The side pocket on the bag holds a Doug Ritter MK1, a Leatherman Ti charge, a little pocket sharpner and maybe a few litle things I am forgetting. The front pocket holds, a pocket version of the SAS survival guide, a Tikka plus headlamp, a lithium glo toob, a modified AMK pocket survival kit, a little comb and a some elastic bands for my daughters hair and a few other things I am forgetting. The top pocket holds a modified Surefire E2D with TNV LED bezel assy. The main pocket holds a bunch of misc stuff, a little Brunton compass, a few little maps of the area and areas traveled alot, 550 cord, usually a MH freeze dried entree, ect. I still can access the firearm faster than I usually can IWB with a zipped jacket on. VERY happy with this product. I get asked alot of questions about it when at the mall or walmart or our shopping. |

I've got the same bag and I love it. I put one of those spacesaver cups that fit over nalgenes down in the bottom of the pocket so I've got a cup if I need it. Mine is more of a GHB than an EDC bag. The Adventure Medical Kit Lightweight .5 first aid kit fits perfectly in the mesh part of the front pocket, and I've got it loaded up with lots of extras for water purification and whatnot. I've got one of the add-on pouches too, not sure which model it is though. Fits a cellphone in the front and has a two-section accordian main pocket. I really like that cord you put on the weapon pocket zipper, I think I'll have to do something like that too. Think it'd be worth using orange cord to make it extra visible? |

Oops forgot, but thanks for mentioning. I have the SS GSI nalgeen nestle cup around the nalgeen, its a tight fit, but it does fit. Nice to have a metal cup for boiling small amounts if needed. However I also have a stove (omnifuel) and a GSI dualist cookware set in the car with some FD foods and a dozen 20oz bottles of water, that should be sufficent to ge me home ANYTIME since I work a few miles from home. I am overseas right now so I am doing this all off of memory. Sorry for the forgotten items, however I am sure there is plenty more.
As for the orange, I would rather NOT draw extra attention to it. But thats just me. |

Did these over the last week or so. My first time doing any wrapping/weaving paracord. 
Bag is the aforementioned Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack. The lanyard is on the concealed holster pocket. The knife is a CRKT Kelly Corkum First Strike. Polished the blade up, gave it a good convex edge like a Bark River knife, and re-wrapped the handle. The original wrap was a katana-style weave over fake searay skin I believe... the wrap went up onto the edge of the blade and was cutting itself off. Looked really crappy. Doesn't look spectacular now, but I'm happy with it as my first paracord project. |
