Yes, I finally have became an AR-15 owner. I currently have: Tec-9 Rueger P-95DC Desert Eagle .44 Walther P-22 Daewoo DR-200 AK-47 Yugo SKS and finally AR-15!!!  I bought a kit from a gun show today. It is a 16" threaded heavy barrel. DPMS lower and a 6 position stock. I bought it from Ranger sales. Everyone said I should stay away from Model 1 Sales, so figured I'd be OK with these guys. Well, about half way through the transaction, I found out this guy's brother owns Model 1 and that most of his stuff came from the same supplier.  Well, I have no complaints so far. Kit was in excellent condition, and the guys couldn't be nicer. I'm sooooo excited right now. I just want to shoot it!!!!Kris |
Beleive me, I know that disease very well!! I can't wait for the civilian version of the P90 to come out! There goes another $1400 or so.

I don't know why really. I started a thread about 2 weeks ago asking who sold good kits. All but one person said to stay away from Model 1. Again, if this kit I have represents the quality of Model 1, I have nothing bad to say at all.
I seemed like every time I was in the market for one, I'd get good offers on other guns. I'd end up buying them and put the AR on the back burner. I almost did it again today, but they sold the MP5 clone before I got back there  Kris |

Ranger sales is model one right? Just a subcompany by the guys son?!! There was a post this week about this...or was it a subcompany of M&A? Model 1 and M&A are the same anyway. There is so much stuff here about Model 1 and M&A I am getting sick....  ...just the cheapest ass subcontracted parts..great for a plinker but otherwise, I just don't know

It's the same parts then, I could care less about customer service, it's the dang quality of parts....Sorry to crap on your thread, I am just utterly consumed by the Model 1 and M&A drama. The mystery of it all... And I should have read your entire post first...

Well, I am new to shooting and only have two guns, both of which are new acquisitions. Still, I am lusting after an AR-15 with my whole little heart!!!! My friend who got me started lives 2,000 miles away... I am sort of swinging in the breeze here on my own. I have been more than pleased with my first two ( a Bulgarian makarov and a Ruger 10/22) amd want to continue to make smart purchases. Any help I can find here will be MUCH appreciated. I have gone to different gun shops and asked questions. While SOME people have been helpful and really cool with me, I have also run into a lot of macho crap like "You're a chick and chicks don't need weapons" or "Find a man to take care of you, you don't need to worry about guns" and once I even had someone say "Damn! I would have never pegged you for a dyke!" I don't need somebody to decide for me whether or not I need/want a gun... I KNOW WHAT I WANT AND WHAT I NEED. And I SURE as hell don't need anyone to point out the fact that I am single... I am well aware of that, thank you very much. And as for being a lesbian, well, that'll NEVER HAPPEN. All I want is some good, practical, honest advice. I'm just dying to give some poor undernourished AR-15 a good home... |
Mami Rock River, DPMS, and Olympic are good entry level rifles. You will never go wrong with Colt or Bushmaster. (You pay a little extra for those names.) I own a Colt and two DPMS. My first AR was an Oly CAR-15 that I had to sell cause the IRS needed their piece NOW. Hope this helps |
