![]() ![]() Came out last year apparently. Chipmunk Rifles are now made by Keystone. I ordered the one pictured from Budsgunshop, $168 ish shipped. Something else to bother squirrels with besides my 1022's, 597 and S&W 22-A's. Scope mount is $15 and on the way also. Will put a compact dot on it. I just wanted a 22LR pistol with a longer bbl, something like a contender until I started checking prices on them ![]() Trigger is supposed to be marginal from posted reviews, might need a little stoning work. http://www.chipmunkrifles.com/images/Chipmunk_Guns.pdf

Should be a shooter.
My son just got the Chipmunk rifle. I put on a fixed 4 power BSA and was shooting 1 inch groups at 50 off a makeshift rest. Trigger was awful. he would have had to 2 finger it. However it is real easy to replace the trigger spring with a lighter one. Creep is long and pull is still a little high but doable now. Also closing the bolt sucks as you don't really get any camming action and the extractor is tough to pop around a rim. I'm thinking about rectifying that also. |

Quoted: I have a crickett rifle, it has no feed ramps. Does the pistol? Or do you have to place it in the chamber like the rifle? No feed ramps, you chamber it manually before closing bolt. I have a Filipetta rifle that works the same way and a Glenfield Model 10 that does have a feed ramp of sorts. |

Range report? one ragged hole at 30yds with CB's using a 5moa dot, approx 3/8". About as far as I can shoot in my woods where the squirrels are. I'll try some hi-speed 22LR later. I like it, but I would suggest getting that dot a lot closer to the barrel if you can pull it off. The difference on shooting game is a big deal. Much less distance to reach the line of sight. Is that a rail on the top of the barrel in the picture? |

I am aware of the effects of scope cant, very minor concern for the range I am using it at. Not concerned with trajectory for the range I am using it at either, there is less than 0.2" arc height difference over the range I am using it (10-40 yards) between 1.5" and 2.0" scope height. |

Put the scope at 1" high and the mid range trajectory is .2" low at 10 yds and only .3" high at 25/30 yds. This means only .5" of deviation from point of aim over your entire required hunting distance. |

This stuff is 740fps from rifle, have not chronoed 10" bbl yet. Estimating 0.25 bc from Rem numbers. |

I am actually thinking about buying one of these for the remington cbees. I would like to put a red dot as well. Probably a ultra dot in low rings. I might even buy a spare base and mill it down to get it closer to the barrel. The extra height is only required with a larger eye piece. |

pain in the butt, ain't it! I will remember they have those when I buy mine. I would really like to find even lower ones if I can, but maybe modifying the rail would help. I do want one of these now. Maybe I will stop at a local gun shop this evening before my date and see if they have one. |

Quoted: What scope did you put on it, and where did you get it. Are you happy with it? Thanks. It is just a cheap no-name 30mm dot, $30 used from a local guy. Might try a 2x or 4x scope on if the dot dies In order to fit the 3/8" rail I needed the kind that takes rings instead of the many integral base ones I already had, all of them were Weaver/Picatinny size. |
