My second auto was a Hi-Power back in 89. Loved that gun. Since then I've owned, shot, and customized a ton of them. I have to say though, watching my 9 year old son having his first center fire handgun experience with his mom's Hi-Power was the best thing I've experienced yet. Considering his stature, I was tickled pink when he put 13 rounds into a 3" group at 7 yards from a standing isosceles. I would have taken photos but I was busy spotting him in the event he let go of the gun. I'll have to get him behind the gun again before school starts. This time I'll have pictures.

Ooooh yeah. Nice.

What kind of grips are on your HiPower and is your song big or small for his age. My son is pretty small for his age and I think it would be too fat for him. And kick too much. I gotta get him on a .22 Pistol.

This particular gun has Esmeralda grips on it. I think he's very average in size. In the Hi-Power picture it's the bottom gun. They are a little thicker than Navidrex grips, but he was okay with them.

I so wanted, and expected my sons to pick the Hi Power as "their favorite".....one ended up with the Beretta 92, the other the Sig 226....Where did I go wrong as a parent?
