JJREA, the 2" 38 M&P revos were very popular and highly collectable.
Here are 2 versions several years apart:

Oh my goodness you are making it very hard for me to not succomb to the thought of just selling all of my autos and funding smith revolvers. Right now I only really enjoy shooting revolvers. I realize that an auto with more capacity is probably the better self defense tool..... But for some reason I can't help myself and that's how I feel.
I still keep an Auto as my bedside gun. Right next to my J frame carry gun that I put in there when I go to bed. I only have 2 smiths and want like... MORE.

I finally found the correct holster for my 11/3/47 K-22 at the recent PHX SAR Show (12/1,2, &3) I picked up the vintage item I was looking for since acquiring the Masterpiece:
This model holster was made between 1939 and 1972. Also works with my resurrected Diamond Targets:

| Hello ,This S&W may not be as pretty as any of yours,but a friend wants to know what this is /its worth. It is a Victory model ,with a 6 digit serial starts with "V59---". I suspect the barrel has been cut down and possibly refinished in nickle? Was told it is chambered in 38 spl. but there are no markings on the barrel.Any insight would be appreciated. I recently came across an interesting revolver for my collection. A S&W Model 342 made from the factory for moon clips. Acquired this through a fellow LEO and family friend. It is your typical no lock 342 no dash model except like I said.... moon clips. I have never seen another like it and I don't believe this was worked on by TK Customs. The individual I purchased this from wouldn't lie on that. Trusted friend, etc.... Nothing mentioned in my S&W books. Nothing on the web. Nothing period. Did some digging on the gun. It was made in 1999, the Model 342 was made from 1999 to 2001. With inventory sold off by 2003. This one was a Non-Cataloged Model 342 made for SRT Supply out of St. Petersburg, FL. They were and still are a major LE Distributor for S&W. It was made as a dealer sampler to be shown to PDs in Florida as a BUG and Admin Gun. Was made from the factory for moon clips. Sold to my friend in 2000 give or take since SRT got no contracts for it. Sat in my buddy's safe until now. Funny thing, it can chamber .357 Magnum.

I've had a growing fascination with wheel guns this past year and decided to bit the bullet on my second ever S&W (I previously had a mid 70s model 10 in nickel that I horse traded for something or other a decade ago.) So am I one of the cool kids now that I belong to the N Frame club?
