Yeah, I'm a little confused, a picture of it mounted on a rifle would help Quoted:
So its a rail you attach to rails to replace your rails? it doesnt replace the rails. it allows for tighter mounting of items through the use of the hub. By using the hub, you can now mount things that would have used multiple different mounts before. Mark |
|
Is the front sight same plane as a standard rear?
I can see some usefulness, but most of the situations solved can still be done with separate cheaper mounts that still allow for quick release of individual components without having to remove the entire hub. Example: mounting a quick release flashlight mount behind the front sight will allow me to rapidly take off my flashlight without interfering with my front sight. |
|
Medicfrost,
Yes sir, it is the same plane as a standard Rear. The seperate mounts may be cheaper by themselves, but once you add up the cost of the system the prices get closer For Example: Standard BUIS - $119.00 Standard Light Mount (Non QD) - $65 Weight 2+ Ounces Total = $184 FUSION Hub - $102.95 FUSION BUIS - $99.95 Total = $202.90 Weight 1.2 Ounces Variance = $18.90 That doesnt include shipping or other incidentals of course. Our shipping is always free. And its certainly a personal decision on how you setup your carbine, this is just another option that offers advantages to some. Thank you |

Thank you Though your guesstimate was a bit high on what I am paying for a front BUIS and flashlight mount ($57 for a Vltor flashlight mount, $80 for a Troy Buis) some others may be paying that. You didn't address the loss of convenience with the lack of a quick release for the extra price that you can get with the cheaper mounts. If you add that down the road, you may get my money. |

Medic,
Roger, I just pulled some prices from the web for some popular items. Yes it is not QD. If you need that functionality, this will not help. It was designed to be low profile and light weight. A QD model isnt out of the question down the road however. Thank you |

Well, welcome to the forum, looks like a cool product. You got a tough crowd around here to please, good luck with the new product. DBAR Thats ok, we will be around for a long time to come and have some neat announcements come SHOT. Medic - If you will be at SHOT we'll meet up and I would be happy to show it to you. Thanks |

Thanks Get me a pass for SHOT, and I'd be more than happy to critique it. It does look very interesting, though. I'm almost certain to try this out, as I can see a lot of potential here. |

Thanks pay for me to go, and I'll do it. It would probably be cheaper just to send me a sample. Personally, I think you already know you're probably not going to be able to prove to me your product is superior to you competitors. |
|
Medic,
Superior to competitors is a little bit need and personal preference. Who would you see as direct competitors and what metrics would you use to quantify? I may not be able to prove it to you, but would happy to list what I see as some of the advantages our product has over them as well as the disadvantages. Lets exclude QD as we know the current FUSION system does not offer that and its not really geared toward that end user. Some metrics we could use:
And any others you can think of. Thanks |

Very cool concept! I am interested to see how this develops and what other attachments may come out. I like the bi-pod attachment. It would be nice to see some way to quickly remove the bipod from the Hub without increasing the weight of the front end. I'm not sure if I am doing a good job at describing this...
Either way, looks good. Maybe down the road I'll have a use for this! Best of luck to you guys! |

mchgnxj24 - Thank you! Keep an eye on us!
slowmethinks - Thank you! Cowboy - The folding front sight comes with a screw that effectively turns it into a fixed front sight, I will get a picture of this tonight to post. We will be offering some new sighting attachments in 2013 I know we will be producing: Micro Height BUIS CR123 Battery Compartment Offset Micro and RMR Mounts M Series Surefire Mounts A smaller Ring mount for handheld lights And a few more in development Not to mention the Tubular Handguard Hub and Ops-Core ARC Mount Thank you |

We've been following these mounts for quite some time and TNVC will be a stocking dealer of these mounts. For simultaneous mounting of lights and lasers (something that has been lacking and is our #1 priority), Unity Tactical has really accomplished something very good here with the utmost attention in the versatility Dept. We look forward to the offering. Vic Di Cosola |

GTFO! GD would gladly welcome your ignorance...

We are very excited to have TNVC as a stocking dealer, their expertise brings a lot to the table.
chibajoe - Haha, we're easy going and appreciate a little humor. The thought process is to build a "Mount System" instead of just a mount. We aim to do the same with all of our products like ATOM and the upcoming VLOK. The value comes in the versatility and modularity. Thanks |

Here I thought that AR15.com was a place where like minded people could get together and discuss a common interest? I guess, you can't cure some diseases, and ignorance is one of them. DBAR |

Its not designed to replace rails certainly, its designed to consolidate mounts. I get where you guys are going with it. Please email Rob Curtis or myself where you are going to be at SHOT if you have a booth so Army Times / Military Times can sit down with you and go over everything one on one. It doesn't matter which one of us you talk to, Rob is my editor but either of us can write about it. If you have the ability to get product to us for a hands on review before SHOT, that would be outstanding, but I know what its like when things are starting out. I've been following this since I first saw your Glock slide drawings, which retains a high level of interest for me as well for another project. |
|
Been following you since the Glock slide drawings, and the development of this mount since you first showed it on LF.
I'm not tracking on some of the juvenile 'criticism' here, def an innovative product and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Unity. |
|
OnlyTheTip - Which screw are you referring to? The sight deployment is extremely repeatable. I will post some images this weekend detailing the front sight. When you deply the sight, a spring forces it into a wedge and self centers.
cochraneap - It will be selling quite a bit under MSRP. Thanks |

Thanks It's a very interesting concept, and I can see it being especially useful on some of the newer handguards that arn't fully railed, or the CF FF tubes.

On a more serious note, have you considered creating an interface to allow the Fusion to mount directly to some of the older tubular handguards, in lieu of mounting to a rail? I'm thinking something like this Armalite (.308) FF tube, which has no provision for a rail. http://i.imgur.com/0E227.jpg Someone put a .308 tube on an AR15? |
|
Looks like a great idea to me. I think it's going to save a bit of space on my little bidy diablo... Thinking about getting for sure! Hope that "well below MSRP" thing is true its a bit on the high side as far as price for my liking.
And @ chibajoe I though it was pretty darn funny! :P |

Check out the web-site for our standard pricing. The pre-order is a discount off of that.
