Not a bad price for a barrel that's in stock.
Cons are .750 under the FSB and non-chrome lined. Pros are the price, availability. Also cheaper than ordering direct, someone reported that their show prices were higher than their catalog/website so this is better than ordering direct. I could Have the barrel cut and turned down under the Fsb to .625 And still save $ over a 250 barrel how are you getting all that done for under 100? Braceman will do it, might not be exactly 100, give or take some. But it's defiantly better that starting with a 200 or 250$ barrel. Barrel. No chrome lining doesn't bother me, I'll never shoot Them enough for that to be a issue. |

I have several firearms which are non-chrome lined, and have no issues with it, although obviously it's worth an extra $50. Anyone know who is making these? I'm guessing Armalite. They will fill a Midway order before yours, and charge you more, so the obvious thing is to backorder one or wait until they are back in stock. I would have no issues building a 653 out of this. I guess I am more forgiving of carbine inaccuracies than rifles. Not sure why, but I am. ETA: I am seriously thinking about buying one of these and having the .750 FSB journal turned down to .625 and the proto FSB fitted. I think this would be a good use for this. You could also do a 'Kino' Dissy with this barrel with the addition of a .625 FSB and a little work. Maybe a Kino Dissy prototype?

I used one of these for a LW flattop setup. Liked it but sold it. I have one of the JT LW barrels and they are .625 at the fsb, but slightly thicker than a true retro barrel. You can actually feel the weight difference.
I also have one of these in .22 . H&B turned down the .750 fsb area for me, reinstall a .625 fsb and added one of bricks moderators |

Very tempting. Weren't the Bushy lightweights like $200+ ??? AND OOS since 2010?
I would buy if I were just starting to build retros/carbines and not a patient guy. LIke others said, the .750 issue can be addressed. Don't know the quality of the item, but the price is right. |

When attending classes for a networking security degree some of the kids in class would take their modified laptops and hack the local Lowes just because they could. You could see the credit card transactions as they were happening and they aren't a small business. Kids today might not know or are even capable of learning anything about manual labor but they know how to use computers and cell phones. Thanks for heads up but fortunately I have 4 -16" carbines already. Only the last one (7.62x39) did I pay less than $145 for the barrel. Thing has been a bargain but really don't see where it's much better than a $50 SKS but they aren't $50 any more either. It is kinda cool and it has a little more thump than 5.56. I do need a 20" Hbar or thicker 5.56 if you see one on a deal in your wave travels.. Weren't the Bushy lightweights like $200+ ??? AND OOS since 2010? Last one I bought was an assembly for $235 plus tax/shipping and that was probably 2009. Think barrel only was $205 from BM. After tax BS I just bought them from PK. Was actually cheaper to my doorstep and I supported a site vendor. Think that was about the time BM was being sold and their CS went to crap. Do think a few were available at x-mas 2012. |
