[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Are these H&R specific forward assists?

I happened to look at the back side of a forward assist on an arsenal refinished upper and noticed a number in a depressed circle. I looked at my 'bronze' H&R upper and noticed a similar number. I don't think I've seen these mentioned on the usual retro reference sites I know of, has anyone else noticed this? They seem to fit the H&R part marking pattern. One other H&R upper receiver I think is original finish does not have a number on the forward assist.

The "3" is on my 'bronze' upper and the '7' is on the arsenal refinish upper.

Thoughts?

That's a pretty neat find. My 603 (A1) upper doesn't have any markings on the forward assist. I'll pull out my other 603 (XM) upper and see if it's the same hopefully tomorrow.

Stands to reason. Looks like all the other H&R forge marks. I haven't seen enough H&R uppers to say yes. Only it does follow their pattern.

Good observation Somebob. Must be a H&R exclusive as none of my Colts have numbered marks. Might have to get into H&R's at some point.

I have a H&R upper That I bought from a member an couple weeks after he bouught it from Brick ,and mine has a number 4 on it

Mine has an "8" on the back. (Also an unmarked upper)
