Starting an Order.
First thing that is up is Faxon would be the barrel maker. I need to know what people would like as a barrel size. What is the length that most would feel would be good for this cal? |

Quoted:
My "no compromise" choices: SAAMI Chamber (seriously, it better be) 5/8x24 thread 11.5" or 12.5" length .750 gas block dia. Hanson or similar profile, nothing too light The rest really is inconsequential to me. I'm in for two, at least, maybe more depending on $$$. Gonna have to re-barrel this baby one day (or maybe build it some siblings). Quoted:

4150 Carbon or 416 R Stainless Steel Black Oxide, 5R rifling or 4 grove or 3 grove, twist? profile. thinking flame fluted or M4 type, Carbine gas system, 750gas block, 5/8x24 thread and 11 degree target crown. let me know what you thinkg My "no compromise" choices: SAAMI Chamber (seriously, it better be) 5/8x24 thread 11.5" or 12.5" length .750 gas block dia. This all sounds very appealing to me! I like the idea of a Gunner 11.5 or 12.5". I was originally planning on ordering the 16" barrel from Alexander Arms, but if this group-buy barrel is less than $200 (willing to pay extra for a matched bolt), I would do this first. |

Here is what I am narrowing down to.
• Barrel length: 12.5 • Barrel profile: Medium, Socom, M4 need feedback on this, might do flutes but that would cost more. • Carbine gas system • Gas-block diameter: 0.750" • Gas-port diameter: 0.078" • Muzzle threads: 5/8 x 24 • 11-degree target crown • Barrel steel: 4150 CMV • Inside finish: QPQ nitride • Outside finish: QPQ nitride • 6.5 Grendel, SAAMI chamber, headspaced for 0.136" boltface depth • 5R-groove • Rifling twist: 1:7.5 • M4-style barrel extension • Magnetic particle inspected |

I'd prefer medium profile and would skip the fluting. |

I MIGHT be in for one depending on price. |

what optic is everyone going to run on these? This. I plan on using it for a hunting pistol. Its over half off, 2x is weak enough for up close shots and 10x is more than enough any shot I would be comfortable taking on an animal. |
