That looks like an unmarked upper, no FN or Colt forge marks?  |
Its a Compass Lake Engineering 1-8" twist SS barrel made in 11-06. Its a Douglas blank. |

ARFCOM cares, if it is not made my COLT/FN, or an upper has a few cosmetic imperfections under the anodizing, they are afraid it will shatter in their hands  My post was done somewhat in jest, referring to that  ETA: go to this link, sdmr rifles, enlarge it if necessary, and look at the front of the LOWER on the LEFT, if a arfcomer had that forging flash on his lower, we would NEVER hear the end of it..... |

 ironically, 2 of my 3 Colt M4 uppers, and both of my Colt A4 uppers are GRAY rather than black, and we know what will happen if I post pictures of them on my current Black lowers  because I am sure the paper targets will really care

How come they pull the auto sear? The cant use a two stage auto trigger kit? |
The first SDMRs used the KAC 2-stage trigger that was semi auto only. KAC does however make AUTO 2-stage match triggers that are used in Mk12Mod0/Mod1s. The Gieselles, semi autos, are used to replace prematurely worn KAC triggers in ARMY SDMRs. there may be Autos used as well, but I dont know. |

| Thats pretty impressive @ 600...with an ACOG. Did the Armalite have a Geissele trigger or the Knights trigger package. The reason I'm asking is because I want to build a clone as close as possible down to the very smallest detail, and hope to get great performance out of it. I have even researched how many flutes are on the heavy barrel that is installed onto the rifle. I also want it to be correct for my collection. |

That goes without saying since, I'd put money down that most ARFCOMmers that are enthusiastically planning for the day when zombies roam the Earth would either lock themselves in the closet or die within 20min immitating something ridiculous on [add name of movie/TV show here]. |

school house DMRs are armalite receiver and barrel with an armalite NM trigger. Units can build their own... |

| So sharkbait who do you think would be a good candidate for making a SDM-R upper. Armalite, Bravo Company, CMMG, or Danial defense, would be my first ABCD choices of makers of a good quality SDM-R. Any other companies you think might want to start a build for an upper. Lets through the ball in there court and find out who would be willing to start a project to civilian market place. |
