| I have a question for the guru's at Vortex Optics. I have been hearing how the SCAR 17S is eating various optics. Now, I know that you guys have one of the best optic warranty's in the business, but it's not something I want to have to deal with. Let's face it, who want's to be without their chosen scope? Has Vortex Optics done any hard testing with your various models of optics to test how it will hold up to the recoil of the SCAR 17S? I'm most interested in the Viper PST line of your scopes. It would set a lot of people at ease hearing it directly from your company. From what I have read, Trijicon has released hard data confirming some of their products are good to go. I purchased a Viper PST line as your product is affordable, very appealing, and your warranty is top notch. Any help that you can provide the community with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
We have not heard about any negative reports of our Viper PSTs being on SCAR 17s. I say rock and roll  Like any other rifle, just make sure the scope is mounted in a secure mount and tightened to appropriate torque specs. Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions. |

I have a 1-4x24 PST MRAD mounted in LT104 QD mount on my 17s been rocking and rolling it for about a year in Dec on the SCAR and it came off my 20" AR it has seen ~1000 .308 rounds misc loads and 1-1.5K on the AR still running strong. Eats batteries when you leave it on on the SCAR that is about it. |

What am I missing? Energy has to go somewhere just because you make recoil feel lighter does not mean you removing that energy. Some is redirected by the muzzle brake, some by the recoil system and some is absorbed by the rifle and attached parts itself basic physics. Energy cannot be created or destroyed think about the guys who do the parcoreing where they jump from 3 story buildings to the ground tuck and roll the reason they can do this is how they transfer the energy instead of doing some through the legs they transfer the energy to forward momentum. |
