Need some advice on your most accurate load that you have shot out of a 16" PredatAR 5.56 barrel build. Looking for 100 yard accuracy information. Can be factory or hand loads. Thanks, Jerry |

My 16" tAR seems to like:
69 grain Nosler Custom Competition HPBT 23.9 grains Reloder 15 Lake City 15 brass CCI BR-4 primer 2.255 OAL ....I managed to outshoot the shooter while working up loads with that one. .561 three shot group but I hope to improve that with a MOA challenge entry once I get better glass sighted in....

After some playing with various powders and bullets I think I've found the load that LaRue PredatAR barreled build loves to eat. My range offers only 50 yards and I'll have to wait until I travel to Homestead to do some distance shooting. I am confident that if I do my job the rig will do the same.

| Both of my Larue barrels (16 and 18) would likely do very well in the MOA all day challenge with black hills blue box 69. Buy a box and reverse engineer. My bet is you'll be happy with that load, and would have the chance to be lazy and buy a box here and there. |

I initially shot 15 rounds of the same 77 SBTHP's out of it with different powder charges and had problems at a previous outing. The five groups of three were inconsistent. After checking the scope (Bushnell Trophy 3*9x40) I discovered it was defective. I changed over to the Vortex for this session and dialed it in with the load stated on the target. The first three tweaking groups were under a MOA @ 50 yards. The .301 group was the second last and the .131 group was the final group. I didn't have any more reloads. Next week I plan to shoot six groups of three with the exact same reload and settings. Once I got back home I wiped down the rig, gave it a kiss and put it in the safe. It's a hell of a barrel. The only thing I forgot to mention it has the TranQuilo 5.56 Muzzle Brake/Adapter on it as the TranQuilo is still in jail and should be out in about 5 weeks according to the ATF. Can't wait to run t on this rig and my 6.8 16" build. Thanks for being  anal as the quality of the barrel is excellent. Being an ex-machinist and mfg. engineer I truly appreciate quality; that's why I buy LaRue products. |
