Okay.....
I'll catch hell for this and I know it but here goes... To set this up a bit... I work for a very rural state community college that is not located in any town. It sits along a four lane highway with no population center for several miles... For that reason we have either police officers, or security guards on duty 24-7. The main campus is pretty large, with seven main buildings, a couple of shops, the P.D., a football field, track, baseball field, etc... There is 80 acres that the college owns behind that campus.. Behind that is a small secondary road with a few houses, then a large mountain range, behind that is more mountains and eventually a state park/forrest area. I was the only police officer assigned to night shift at that time and I worked 5 straight through the week... Had for years. A couple of years back, in the fall, around October or November, I had made my regular patrols of the campus.. Made sure all the buildings were locked and everything was secure. I usually ate lunch at about 3:00am and spent the next little bit in the office, until about 4:00 when I would start to unlock the buildings and get the day started. After years of doing this, your eyes can start to get a little heavy during that down time...I had finished lunch and was setting in the office chair with a window to my back that has the main campus RT going by, and a window to my left that faces the parking lot of the building where the P.D. is located... The parking lot stretches about 100 yards away from that window and the main doors to the building.. As I was sitting in the chair, from what I figured was the far end of the parking lot, again about 100 yards... I hear this long, drawn out roar. I have lived in this rural area most of my life and I have never heard anything like it. it sounded like a movie effect, not like any game that or livestock that I have ever encountered. I honestly asked myself in that instant if I actually heard that sound, or if I had fallen asleep in the chair for just a split second and dreamed it. I got up and walked out the the patrol car and drove a lap around campus shining the spotlight, didn't see anything. I convinced myself that I had dreamed it. I went on with the rest of my shift, went home tired, fell asleep and forgot all about it. The next night, at about the same time, I was sitting at the same chair and so help me, just outside the window, out of the fucking blue, I hear this massive roar!!! It felt like it was vibrating the ground!! Long, drawn out, roar/scream that was extraordinarily deep/base, and drew out to a much higher pitch. I could feel it in my bones... Right down my spine.... I could feel myself draw up in the office chair. We are armed... Glock 19's and AR-15's... I was frozen stiff... I just sat there motionless.. I could not believe what I was hearing, and I would not have believed you if you had told me the same! I sat there until about a minute later, when I heard it in the exact same spot as the night before... That caused me to snap out of it... I jumped, ran out and shined my flashlight in the parking lot... Then I got in the vehicle and drove the entire campus, shining my spotlight, and searching every square inch of the place, atleast what I could drive on. I never saw it and I never heard it again. Whatever it was probably crossed the fence, and then the road behind the campus and took to the mountain. The only thing in this area that could have made a sound anything like that would be a bull.... It would be the only thing large enough... But I have never heard a bull make a sound like that.. Not even close. This was the sound of a predator.....It was a menacing sound! This was not a whooping sound like you hear those idiots on those shows make.... No human being could possibly replicate that sound. Not a chance... It felt like it shook the ground. I have never in my life had anything as strange as that happen. I wish I were better able to describe it.. I have hunted, fished and camped in this area all my life. Nothing around here should be able to make a sound like that.. Hell, for that matter, nothing in the world should be able to make a sound like that. The closest sound that I have heard to what I heard that night would be a movie monster effect such as a T-Rex. As crazy as that sounds, I promise that is exactly how it went down that night. |

Usually, staff and workers start to show up at around 4:30am and that's why I get started unlocking the buildings at 4:00. Virginia is not in Somalia bro. I'm starting to not believe your story. |

Do they have them in Somalia ? Not a chance.... I have had a bobcat scream within 20 yeards from me and I've then watched him move about... Also at night, on campus... I encourage him to do it whenever we stop for a break on the snowmobiles, because there is probably someone walking through the woods who will freak out when they hear it. This is WI and the U.P., but I'm sure there are other people out there just like us. |

Well, it's not that I don't believe, I just find it hard to accept nobody has shot one or nailed one with a car yet. How much acreage is needed to support one of these beasties? How do they reproduce and why have no juveniles ever been seen?

That reported sighting is very near the college and would be in the same time frame. I've never seen or heard Bigfoot, but I have seen a UFO. Very close to me. It passed slowly and silently overhead. It was rectangular and looked to be about the length and width of a football field with four large round glowing engines ( ? ), one near each corner.
So, I can believe in Bigfoot, I guess, too. |
