I decided it was time to swap up the color combo on my rifles from black with fde furniture to fde receiver and rails with black furniture.

So I ran across these mbus sites on gunbroker. I bought two and called the guy to give my CC#, I even asked him if they were the real mbus and not the PTS before giving my number. He says "yes, these are the real mbus"

Well they came in today and they are not real. I'm not sure if they are PTS because I have a $10 pts set on an airsoft that I knew were fake. They have a set screw for the front sight detent and feel cheap as shit.

Well these were sold as real and I guess I should have known with the price ($54.99/set)

Here is a set against my fde ones.

FDE - Real mbus

Black - Fake mbus

Notice the difference in the screw heads how the cheap one is flared on the ends and is more shiny, also the pins are different.

The adjusting screw on the real has a hole in it

Look at the casting marks, and the fake doesn't have the centerline on the ghost ring.

The detent and the post on the fake is made of plastic.

THIS IS A SET OF FRONT AND REAR SIGHTS.

The Magpul MBUS2 Back-Up Sights are a great innovative flip sight system for the M4/M16. Both front and rear sight bolt firmly to the weaver rail.  Each sight is spring loaded in the down position with ambidextrous release buttons.  These are great back up sights for any gun with a continuous flat top rail.

Magpul improved the design even more with their newest generation of the MBUS2. The lower Profile of the PTS Gen2 MBUS greatly improves optics compatibility due to their ability to fold to a profile of only approximately a half-inch.

Magpul also improved on the design by making both the large and small aperture visible on the same plane of view.

Features:    Impact resistant polymer construction provides light weight and resists operational abuse.   Spring-loaded flip up sight easily activated from either side or by pressing the detent and spring pressure keeps sight erect but allows for unobstructed folding under impact.  Clamps to any standard mil-spec 1913 Picatinny railed hand guard and provides the same height-over-bore as standard A2 irons.

THE FRONT SIGHT IN NOT DESIGNED TO BE MOUNTED DIRECTLY ON A FRONT GAS BLOCK!  THE SIGHT WILL MELT UNDER USE IF MOUNTED TO THE FRONT GAS BLOCK.

THE FRONT SIGHT IS DESIGNED TO BE MOUNTED ON A QUAD RAIL  THAT IS ON THE SAME PLANE AS THE REAR SIGHT. (SAME HEIGHTH)

No box is included with these sights.  These are used sights with little to no visible wear.

Payments accepted by mail (money order), by phone for credit cards. Payment is due within 5 business days of auction closing.

FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU  And then he goes on to say that these aren't meant to be mounted on a gas block. No shit, airsoft guns don't have gas blocks.

I BELIEVE MAGPUL ALSO SAYS NOT TO MOUNT ON GAS BLOCKS TOO

NOTE: Cannot be mounted to a railed gas block due to excess heat issues.

Front MBUS must be mounted to a railed fore end on the same plane
as the receiver rail.  Because of this the sight is also not compatible
with MOE Hand Guards.

I bought a FDE drop in mid length rail off of him last week. Shipped it quickly! Problem is the rail isn't for a triangle fsb as advertised in the ad. Contacted him about it last Thursday and he said he would check into it. Didn't hear back from until I emailed him on Saturday telling him he sent me the wrong thing. He said that the manufacturer sent him the wrong rails. He said that the rails they sent were for a circular base. As of right now the rail is being mailed back and he is suppose to be issuing a full refund but we'll see. I still haven't left my feedback on gunbroker yet. Good luck with your situation though. I just bought some pts sights and can tell by the coloring that you got screwed!

Sent this email to him with pics, we'll see how it goes.

I asked you on the phone if these were real Magpul MBUS sights and not PTS and you said yes. These are very good copies but they are anything but original Magpul. The site post and detent are plastic. The casting marks are different, the plastic is rougher and flimsy, the ghost ring lacks a centerline, the bolt isn’t parkerized but anodized. Needless to say I’m not impressed and want a full refund.

Thanks,

That would be great. These are not real and people need to know this. These knockoff parts for guns could get somebody hurt or killed if they are thinking they are getting the real thing. These need to be sold as airsoft copies and clearly stated.

Wow GD is the only place I've ever found where the guy that got scammed is the bad guy. How about he sold some poor guy a fake grip. That guy grabs his rifle when he hears someone come through his door, only to find the grip broke in half. Yeh it may not be a strong possibility of getting someone killed but that shit doesn't need to be sold as used real parts.

There's also not a strong possibility that you'll get killed by lightning standing on an aluminum ladder in a thunderstorm, but you still move your ass.
