Estok, age 41 of Hendersonville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at Hendersonville Medical Center. He was an exterminator for Orkin. Survivors include his wife, Alycia Estok of Hendersonville; parents, Andrew and Betty Estok of Hendersonville; daughters, Annie, Isabella and Gracie Estok of Hendersonville; brother, Gregg Estok of Hendersonville; sister, Sonjia Rogers of Smyrna; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 5-8 PM Sunday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, July 18, 2011 at Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment at Paynes Chapel Cemetery. I was Dan Estok's wife and I wanted you to know that he took his life this past Friday. He had spoke often of you and the AR15 crew so I wanted to let you know. Please respect her wishes. Leave this woman alone. I ask you please post the following.. Please stop with the hate emails, Facebook messages, etc. I understand your anger directed at me because what you thought you knew. The truth is Dan was a wonderful man with a giving, loving heart. He would give up anything he had for another. This is why he was loved. Dan also had mental problems he took meds for and constantly struggled with overwhelming depression. I knew of his online persona and allowed the lies because it helped him have something to do. He was Czech/English, not Italian. We are poor, not rich. He killed bugs, never a strip club, etc. We did not have life, funeral, etc. Insurance. I was not unfaithful. He flew into rages and was abusive. He didn't know what he was doing, he was sick. When he hit our 5 yr old, I left. I had to protect our 3 girls. He had enrolled in counseling, anger management but still refused to up his meds. Two weeks ago he lost his job, his father is fighting for his life in the hospital and he snapped. We fought to stop him, but he put a gun to his head and there was nothing else that could be done. Dan was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and friend. His heart was amazing, but he had a sickness he could fight no longer. I ask that you cease attacking or blaming anyone, especially calling him selfish. He was the least selfish man I knew. He simply didn't have control over his actions. Pray for his three daughters, ages 5, 3, and 19 months as they are hurting for their daddy and don't understand. If any of you had personal experiences with Dan, I would love hearing how he touched your life. Thank you. |
