Do you guys know if this stock will fit a new mini 14 tactical rifle? It's the old model stock I prefer with the wooden upper hand guard.

As long as it has the fore end liner, and the reciever stock reinforcement you are good to go.

So I have the same question, I bought a recent SS/synthetic mini14. The stock I saw did not have the handguard. What are these heat shields and reinforcements? Pics?

I got a spare handguard heatshield from Midway a few months ago.
(You can also check Brownells)

Note: Parts 18 and 65  as well as other replacement parts can be ordered from Midway

I wish either Ruger or another quality stock maker would produce a nice Walnut Stock with a matching upper Handguard.  I think that their is a market for this type of product.

That old school wood stock looks great on the new tactical.  I'd like to see Ruger offer some wood stocks as an option or as a factory standard.  Specifically, I would like to see the side folder offered again.
