Before anything, I know all ammo shoots a little different.

All I have shot is 55gr .223. Tula and PPU FMJ shoot almost exactly the same for me, so that's what I've been using. Last night I purchased some XM193. If I want to keep using the .223 rounds at the range and zero with them, would there be any theoretical change in the point of impact between the two? I mean they're same weight and everything, but would the higher velocity change POI that much?

Yes it will change.

I don't know what you consider that much to be.

Am I going to shoot a drastic distance farther than where I'm aiming? or will I only be an inch or two different.

Out to ~300 yards it might only be +/- 2" but further than that the delta is going to get more and more dramatic.

Awesome, I don't plan on having to hit that far out anyway. Thanks!

Here's some data, from my trusty ballistics calculator. These charts assume a 16" barrel, 50yd zero, 2.6" sight height, and a standard atmosphere with no wind. Therefore, it is only a reference.

First, the XM193:

Now the Tula 55 gr:

As the previous poster said, very little difference. Just a note about the lines in red on the charts. I set a "vital zone radius" of 5 inches. It is simply telling me here that for XM193, I would be within the vital zone up to 288 yards for XM193, and up to 280 yards for the Tula.
