Investors 'go bananas' for gold bars as global stock markets tumble
Bullion dealers report record sales as buyers "queue round the block" to purchase the precious metal BullionByPost, Britain's biggest online gold dealer, said it has already taken record-day sales of £5.6m as traders pile into gold following fears the world is on the brink of another financial crisis. Rob Halliday-Stein, founder and managing director of the Birmingham-based company, said takings today had already surpassed the firm's previous one-day record of £4.4m in October 2014. BullionByPost, which takes orders of up to £25,000 on the website but takes higher amounts over the phone, explained it had received a few hundred orders overnight and frantic numbers of phone calls this morning. "The bullion market has been building with interest since the end of last year but this morning things have gone bananas," said Mr Halliday-Stein. "Some bankers in London are placing unusually large orders for physical gold." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/investing/gold/12151770/Investors-go-bananas-for-gold-bars-as-global-stock-markets-tumble.html I got my gold bars already |

A thread yesterday said that physical money was a thing of the past and digital currency is the way of the future. I don't think so.

View Quote I'm not 100% sure that's correct , but I see a push by governments to go cashless, electronic currency makes it easier to control your finances and prevent bank runs which will be inevitable if things continue on the current path. You can dclare and enforce a bank holiday with a single key stroke this way. Having precious metals and some fiat at home will negate this to some level , but if you look at the trend to make cash transactions illegal they are already trying to nulmify preparations of those who have valid fears about the impending financial collapse. |

Massive lines does not equal 5.6 million pounds. That's pocket change in today's economy. One dealer had a good day. Big deal.

It will still go up so high that even Trump will be winning. Just don't buy near the top or ask me when to buy or sell. Usually it is best to do the opposite of what I do. |

I mean, we're starting to cross the line from "Hey have a good laugh with gym007 because he is saying crazy shit again" to now I feel like I'm that guy in the after-school special picking on the retarded kid and I don't want to be that guy. P.S. Down 1.39% for the day is not typically considered a "crash: by well... anyone. |
