My buddies stories of working with the Polizei as an Army MP in Germany in the 80s were very eye opening.
Apparently they would carry rubber batons in a leg pouch, and if they grabbed those, someone was getting smashed up. Bad. And nobody. Nobody, would say anything about what a bad day you were receiving. God forbid you used a weapon in committing your crime, the monkey-stomping would be epic once you were caught. |

Nobody believes in following the rules more than the Nazis Germans.
They have a police state, and they love it. Stupid arbitrary rules like unneccessary speed limits? Nah. But the rules that exist, you will abide. If you fuck up and forget this, not only will the Police whip your ass, but everyone will applaud and wish they could join in. |

I went to Stuttgart in '93 for a couple of weeks. I was having dinner at a sidewalk cafe when a drunk was wandering around the intersection blocking traffic. Cop car pulls up and two polizei walk up and politely try to lead him out of the street. Drunk guy pulls away, then takes a swing at one of them. Batons came out and they beat that fucker like he owed them money. It was truly a "retard on a drum kit" moment. Then they hauled his unconscious ass to the car, tossed him in the back and left. I looked around the scene and there were no fucks to be given by any of the locals.
