I'm guessing they might hide the brand, which they could have a number of reasons to do. They might also be used as a test group for the industry which makes sense. SOG is famous for working in the shadows. No pictures, no reports and no leaks. They are not poster boys like the American spec ops are. It was only last year we got to know that they use the G36 and that was because the army uploaded pictures of it. If they don't want it to get out it don't get out; so a prototype would be safe in their hands and SOG would get to influence the end product. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

You know you're high speed when you've got to blur out your suppressor for OPSECS Yeah, I don't get that. It's not like PEQs and suppressors are secret alien technology that only the Swedes have. We had a team of Swedish Snipers show up to one of the annual military sniping competitions in Finland. These guys got set up in the barracks like everyone else before it kicked off, the day before the competition started. The barracks are heated, with showers and sauna bath, kitchen, fairly nice compared to what I've seen around the world. Guys get to talking, looking at each other's rifles and equipment, normal stuff. The Swedes looked around, packed up their kit, and left, but before driving off, they complained to the organizers that the living conditions were substandard for their tastes. I think what really happened was they saw 19 other teams with guys that intimidated them, knew their trade extremely well, and they knew they were not going to come close to placing, so they quit before the competition even started. Swedish SOG and G36? Opsec accessories? Something is funky here gents. |

Swedish SOG and G36? Opsec accessories? Something is funky here gents. I'm not saying American spec ops are bad or that Swedish SOG is better, I'm saying that you use them to market your military. I think our military should do the same to solve the issue with so few wanting to get in to the army. Also, that story sounds like a ton of bullshit. You don't travle for over 16 hours by plane with tax payers money and then just drop out. So if I'm going to buy your little storry you need to show me something that proofs it. |

John Plaster...I have a relative that worked with him in SE Asia. The story I was told asserts that Plaster is a lowlife POS, a charlatan, liar, and a shameless thief of grandiose proportions. He spent 90% of his time on RT Cali writing his own fictitious awards, and without direct support, couldn't load his own mags. Fanboys can be pissed, and no, I can't provide bona fides to back the claim, but that's the way I heard it. |
