I'm just getting started in USPSA, here is a video from a local match. Let me know what I need to work on.
Video BTW way can someone tell me how to embed the video. |
| I would try to take a wider stance so that you don't need to shuffle your feet when transitioning. You lost a good amount of time on the start. so work on table starts and the make up shot added a lot of time, so take your time on the initial shot so you don't need to go back. Other than that, it looks good. |

Your asking us and Todd is your RO? ETA= Nice run BTW. This!!! lol I guess it helps to know him. Truly amazing to watch him in person. I bet he would give you a tip or two if you ask. If not you, listen to what he is telling others. I get to hear Rob Leatham give advice to a lot of people and much of it can be applied to my shooting. |

Wow! Todd Jarrett competes in local matches and even works as an RO? I guess it never occurred to me that shooters of his caliber would do that. LOL. It's like Michael Jordan showing up at a neighborhood pick up game.
In the 2nd video it looks like you're transitioning all the way across the field for each target. Was that somehow a necessity of the stage? If not, it's usually faster to shoot all the targets on one side and then shoot all the others on the other side - if you can do it without breaking the 180. Also, as production shooters we have the challenge of getting new rounds into the gun between virtually every position. It helps if you can practice sticking the reload on your first step on your way to the next position. That way, you can focus on being quick to the next position - and more importantly - being ready to engage a target when you get there. |
