I am going to start an LLC to offer firearms instruction in my area.  I figured that this was the proper place for this thread.  My question was, which internet based company was the best for doing this?  I see Legalzoom and several others and was wondering if anyone in here who has gone with route could please share your experience?  Any help with this would be most appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Most places, like here in my state, starting an LLC can be done at the state's website, with a credit card, in a couple of minutes.

You don't list your state in your profile, so I can't help you more specifically.  It's not generally something that requires a lawyer or facilitator like legalzoom, unless you live in a really messed-up state.

Looks pretty straightforward to me.... http://www.sos.wa.gov/corps/LimitedLiabilityCompaniesLLC.aspx

You'll have to mail in to form it, but can renew online after that.

It took about 15 minutes and $40 on the Secretary of State website and it was a done deal. About 5 minutes and $15 a year after that.

Try IL. Its 500 to file and all you get is 2 pieces of paper and its 250 a year after that.   I would like to do it myself but I would like the operating agreement even though I dont need one, and I have no clue how to do it. so I am going the lawyer route it should cost around 1700 when its all said and done.

Just do it through your state's website. If you do it through an attorney, or a legal website, they're gonna charge you the state's fee + their fees and you end up with the same thing.

FWIW, don't trust being an LLC as your sole means of legal protection. Obtain insurance on top of that. I don't teach the hokey NRA courses, but I have my insurance through them. Good rates for great coverage.

This.

I simply operate as a sole proprietor and skipped the LLC as the state representative said if I have no employees and don't make retails sales, just do the DBA.  More than one lawyer has told me a LLC does not provide the protections many think it does.  I'm still liable personally for directly fucking up... LLC or no LLC.  Now that's just what I've been told more than once... YMMV.
