I'm a basic pistol instructor and that's all I want to do.  I don't want to teach defensive use, offensive use, gunfighting, cover vs. concealment, etc.   I like doing sights, trigger, bang, hole in paper.  So about 30 years ago, I got my credentials as an NRA certified instructor.

A couple years ago, NRA came up with this stupid idea of "blended instruction."  That was a disaster.

I just went to NRA's website to print a new copy of my instructor card.  The first page was a lengthy announcement that they are bringing back blended instruction.

WTF?  I haven't looked really hard but I can't find anything about how this new class is supposed to work.

Anyone know?

I can't help you on how it is suppose to work but one thing is obvious.

They once again,  want a cut of the Instructor margin.

I found this link . . . https://basicpistol.nra.org

They are asking $60 for the online class.

I used to help out with a local club that did new shooter classes as a public service.   The students paid for the book and a couple bucks for ammo.    "We're offering a free class that will only cost you $60."

Short answer, you can do it either way.

Old school, all classroom, instructor present, or new school, part one online, part two with an instructor.
