Thinking about putting one together.  Would it be legal in NJ?  Don't see why not but figured I should ask.

As long as it's a registered pistol reciever.

Not legal in a standard configuration.  You can't get it under 50 oz.

Wouldn't it also be illegal in good old NJ because the magazine is loaded outside of the pistol grip?

One evil feature is allowed.

Illegal SAW
• A semi-automatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following:
1. An ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip
2. A threaded barrel, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer
3. Manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol in unloaded
4. A semi-automatic version of an automatic firearm
