Excuse my newbie question but I was told by someone that a Law Enforcement Only marked lower is illegal to own in NY, is this true or am I being fed BS as usual?

Yes, it's true, unfortunatly we cannot own them. Has to be either a post ban model without the evil parts,or a  pre-ban model with evil parts produced before sept.13 1994.

Is the possession of a LEO marked lower legal?

Technically yes, as long as it's not built into AW configuration or is one of the named evil assault rifles.

But to quote the second greatest legal scholar of ARFcom, ". . . if the receiver is marked “Restricted/LE/Govt/Export" you would be nutz to possess it in NY even in a postban configuration. "
