Alright everyone – let’s celebrate the end of this miserably hot summer with a good old-fashioned NJ BLAST and CAMP OUT! Let’s make lucky number 13 the best one yet!
Some details about the shoot: When: Saturday 9/24 from 9:00 am until whenever, usually 2:30 or so Where: Ft Dix Range 14 (see directions below) What: Fun, Guns and Friends! Range Fees: $3 per hour, as long as you want to shoot Camping details: When: After the shoot Where: Buckeye Gun Club, Barnegat, NJ What: Good company with good friends Cost: $10 per person for the night (all money goes to the club) As with previous events, those who are camping will caravan over and stop for dinner along the way. I hope we will see a couple new faces camping this time!! Of course, we will have our customary door prize raffle and 50/50 at the shoot. Well, let’s start talking it up! Here are some links to the last shoot and some picture galleries from shoots past: Thread from NJ BLAST XII A few BLST VIII pics BLAST VII Pics BLAST VI Pics (SNOWBALL SHOOT!) |

Directions to the range from the Turnpike. If you need directions from somewhere else, post here and someone will definitely provide.
I know they are long but, I was very descriptive with them. The whole trip is really very simple. •Take NJ Turnpike to Exit 7 •After paying toll, take Rt. 206 South •After a short distance, make a LEFT onto Rt. 68. This is a very well marked intersection with signs for Fort Dix. Also, you can only turn left or go straight at this light, there is no right turn. Rt. 68 is larger highway divided in the middle by a grass median. •After several miles, you will turn LEFT onto Rt. 537/Monmouth Rd. If you go too far, you will run into the entrance to Ft Dix and the MPs will tell you so. Just turn around and go back a couple of roads. •After a couple of miles, you will come to an intersection with a WAWA on the far left corner, a diner on the far right corner, a motel on the near left and a gas station on the near right. The WAWA is a good landmark and the last/best place to stop for supplies before getting to the range… Continue straight through the light and on 537. •A couple of miles past the WAWA you will go through a traffic light. Soon after that you will pass a farm market on your left (with the farm on both sides of the road) and then come to a flashing yellow light. Turn RIGHT at the flashing light onto Jacobstown Cookstown Rd. Note – one of the signs on the corner only says Jacobstown Rd but, that’s the one you want. Just look for the flashing yellow light; that is the best landmark. •Follow this road to the end, it is a couple of miles. When you get to the end/stop sign, turn RIGHT onto the little main street of Cookstown. I do not believe there are any street signs here. •Once you go through town you will pass a farm field and then cross over onto the military reservation. (Ft Dix) There is one little white sign that you might miss but, as soon as the field ends and the woods begin, you are on base. Continue straight, this is now Range Rd. You will pass some Bivouac sites on the right and a range or two on the left and the ‘urban’ range on the right. Look for ‘Messina Range’ on your left and the urban/MOUT looking range on your right (they are directly across from each other). These are good landmarks and Range 14 is the next left up the road. You will see a small brown sign on the left that says ‘Ft Dix Rod & Gun Club – Range 14’. Turn LEFT here. •Go down the short road and cross the tank trail and go through the gate. (you will see the red ‘range hot’ flag flying) Go straight down the long ‘driveway’. You will pass the skeet/trap range on your left, the small archery courses on your right and will eventually come to the rifle range. (You have to turn left) •We generally have two or three tables all the way down on the right side of the firing line. (These would be the first two you will see when you pull in) Look for a BRIGHT YELLOW F-150 parked on the line. You can pull right up to the line to unload. |

The Hun will be there. Can't wait to break in my new build. Bushy M4 Upper with flat top and Izzy break, Ameetec lower with Chip McCormick single stage straight trigger, Ace skelton stock, First Samco G-27 Grip and an OKO RED DOT Site. Srange how all the parts arrived today when BM emailed me with a notice of a 3 to 7 week delay.

I am sorry I do not speak frog. Do you mean camping? If so most likely I will. |
Got confirmation from our good friend Ray that Buckeye will once again be our gracious hosts for a night under the stars!
Great to hear |
Holy Moely - could you be a little more specific please. |
I'm IN. Camping? Dunno yet. I hate sleeping without my wife and me hates ticks!
If you want Bobby knows redeye maybe he can hook up for the evening.. |

HA, we 100% DEET...............................well at least I do |
I'll be there for the shoot, I'll see if I can squeeze in a few more door prizes as well
Oh yeah, anyone have a YUGO SKS they want to part with? |
I don't if 100% deet IS more effective than less than 100% DEET. However, I still hate sleeping with out my wife. I'm not P-Whipped either. |
OK, put me down for the camping part too. I'm still not sure if Justin is going to camp too, but I'll let you know before then.
Good, We can celebrate your p r o m o t i o n |
Depends on how much you like to shoot. I have been to these and shot a lot and I have gone and shot almost nothing. I'd say bring what you'd normally bring for a day at the range plus a little extra... |
No, I don't work with the tack/untack buttons anymore. I work with the lock buttons now. |
Hmm... Where's zbrane and Antonio? I need more campers, DAMN IT!!
Seriously, I'm looking forward to this! I heard a rumor that even the elusive sjauch might grace us with his presence! (better put on your makeup boys) |
Also wanted to add - I really hope to see some new members out there! We have a tradition - that I am quite proud of - where we see 2 or so new faces at each gathering. I've notice some new posters in the forum recently so, if you'd like to come out and have some fun, please do! This is a really great bunch of people, usually 25-30 these days, and you won't be sorry you came.
Oh yeah, our other tradition - it seems that new faces tend to walk away with the 50/50 prize! So, come out and say hi! If you're a BLAST veteran, bring a friend! |
Fixed it for ya |
What are we looking at for door prizes this time around? along with the military surplus stuff I just got picked up as a dealer for Fobus and *might* be able to throw in a holster depending on how tight money is.
I haven't picked up the prizes yet but I should have 5-6 items, depending on what I get. I'm fairly certain I won't get a holster, though... |
I hope to see you out there! We've had several spouses, kids, nieces, friends, etc. come out and all had fun! |
Rem223- This is his BUSY season, forget it . 555R- I hope he shows, cause I sold him a shotty he wants to MORF into somethin' EVIL |
