ETA : Added AAR

Hike went great, everyone was in good spirits and well hydrated ( Meggers)

2 Hikers carried 45# (Joshdb50 and Madcow), Both met weight time requirements for APC hike.

2 Carried less and were there as witnesses (Meggers and Seth)

Trails were a little damp (Peanut butter mud ) but fairly clear, saw maybe a handful of other hikers / runners.

For the 9th and 16th, we can either do the same trail again (Fenceline) or we could stage a vehicle at the other park on Stillhouse Hollow and walk from one park to the next.

Miller Springs / Chalkfalls are both options, but they both a smaller and we would have a harder time getting the miles.

As other have said, dont let the weight or distance keep you from getting out and meeting some like minded folks. We can adjust the distance or even what terrain we hike on to accomadate.

I myself am recovering from a self inflicted foot injury so I did not do the full 45# last week.

I have been working up to doing this. Maybe I'll be ready in the fall. My pace right now is 120 steps per minute on pavement (standard .mil marching pace). I'm increasing the distance I walk slightly each week. I hope to hike with yall.

Me and my buddy are actually going to hit the range tomorrow to get some training in.  I'm going to talk to him about hitting up the next one.

I'll just hike in Temple in the AM rather than drive to HH to hike alone. If anyone wants to do a hike in Temple / Belton (Peppercreek Trail, Miller Springs or even a neighborhood) I'll check this before I step off in the AM.

Temple show cloudy until 900 so I might as well knock out 6 miles in the AM.
