When my wife moved in with me, we put her couches in a semi-trailer that I use for storage at work. Sometime before the last rain, some asshole let fly with some 380 critical defense and poked a hole in the roof of my trailer. It bounced off her ottoman and we found the slug on the floor. The couch is wet, not dripping, but wet. It doesn't stink and it's not mildewed. Should I spray some sort of cleaner on the couch?

I'd be better off living near Garland Gun range than dealing with this bullshit in SE Dallas. This is the 3rd one this year. I would have thought the critical defense slug would have opened up at least some.

It's not going to open.  Roof of a trailer is thin and and not liquid.  Also the round was most likely going around only 200-300fps or so depending on angle when it hit.  Assuming the round was just shot up in the air and someone not standing on the trailer shooting down.  But this is SE Dallas so someone could have been on top of the trailer too.

send it to California for entrance into their database.  Tell them it was used in the commission of a crime, which it was, vandalism.

I think the moral of the story is don't carry a Critical Defense 380 load.

So the critical defense, it penetrated (what, steel?) with no expansion and the bounced of an ottoman? I don't know what that says about this round.

Was the shooter on top of your trailer shooting down, or did he shoot up in the air and it came down into the trailer?

What are the trailers made out of? What is the ottoman made out of?

It was a falling round that punched through the aluminum sheeting and bounced off the padding on the bottom side of the ottoman.

Well it's the roof of a semi trailer, so yeah, nobody has ever crawled up there and I bought it 7 years ago.

I heard some rifle fire coming from the park about 2 weeks ago. We hear pistols all the time, but the rifles are bothering me.

Closest gun range is 12 miles away.

Just a shitty neighborhood.

Well, did the couch develop mildew stench?

JB Weld should fix the hole in your trailer.

No, we pulled all the cushions off, left it in our warehouse overnight with a fan on it, then set it outside in the sun with an exhaust fan blowing on it and now it's sitting in a house we're waiting to remodel that's part of our business. I had to work overnight last week and I slept in the house, my son slept on the couch, so I guess we got lucky and caught it in time.
