At work we found a little girl running around at the gun range. We are in a less than desirable area of town (Pasadena) and see stray animals all the time. She was hanging out in the parking lot, attracting attention of customers. As I'm leaving for the night, she's sitting by the front door, staring in. One customer gave her some cat food he had in his truck and we watered her. With no one else to take her and not wanting her to get turned into a pancake, I brought her home. After food, water, and a bath, she's doing well.
We already have 2 dogs and 4 cats (all rescues too), we just can't take on another animal right now.
I was going to take her to the local no kill shelter but I heard just now, they are full and not wanting to take any more animals.
No idea of her age but she looks young by looking at her teeth. She has a raw spot on her neck. My guess is she was chained/tied to something and escaped. Not real social but my wife is holding her now and seems to be doing good. No tattoo from being spayed.

I'm guessing about 15lbs or so. Looks like maybe a weiner/something mix but no real idea. North American Mutt dog is my guess...

Did you make any attempt to find a potential owner in the area where she was found??

I'm not trying to make a personal attack or come across as a jerk...  But I would be pretty pissed if my dog got loose and someone picked him up and took to trying to find a new home.

Take her to your vet and see if she has an chip.

As president of my neighborhood association "voluntary membership" I get on average 7 to 8 dogs brought to my doorstep a year. Good on you OP for doing what you could do. I always take them to my vet and chip ID them if they are chipped. Sometimes the owner if chipped has moved and their info is not updated. I've had good success finding the owners eventually but it is a pain in the ass. If you're best friend is chipped and you move, don't forget to update you're contact info. Also I would think the shelter would scan for a chip if you drop her off.

Pet smart and Petco also have the scanners. My neighborhood seems to be a dumping ground for dogs.

The shelter checked if she had a chip and she didn't.  No collar or tattoo either.  Like I said, we see stray animals almost every day where I work.  She's online if you want to check her out, see if she's your dog.
