DuratCoat before and after  


I just completed two kimbers 1911 in matt black for a custumer. I had a little time in between projects. Here are some pics of the prep for Duracoat .


Before


Step 1 Cleaning and degreasing.
Step 2 Blasting with 120 grit Aluminum Oxide.

Step 3 Parkerizing. (Zinc Phosphate)

After

You do this with the sights on the gun and bead blast the barrel?

95% of the time I will take them off.  But if a someone wants the sight to stay on I will leave them on (If you have High dollar night sights I can cap the dots). As for the barrel I will plug the ends and blast it with 120 grit @ 45 to 60 psi  ONLY THE OUT SIDE.
