Ive had 2 Bersa .380s, and dont have anything bad to say about them. Neither one ever jammed.

I have the firestorm .45 acp 7 round. LOVE the gun. Light weight and accurate, and reliable with hollowpoints. Extra mags are expensive. $50 but you only need one extra. For 350$pluss 50$=400$$ it makes a great cary gun, and it has ambidexterous controls.

I guess that .380 is better than .32ACP.
 My opinion is to spend the $$$ and get something like a S&W 342 so that at least you are up to .38 special+P. |

no expert, but I am no fan of the .380 at all. Even the mrs. shoots 38SP+P

Given the option, I think most people would rather have a .38sp +P in self defense rather than a .380. I would rather an AR15 than a .38 sp. The issue is what you can conceal or have for easy carry. I carry a Glock 22 most of the time when I go out. For other times when it is too big to conceal, I have a baby .380. |

Have shot and carried one. TRG loaned me his for a day once. Not bad little guns. When I get some extra bucks I will get one.

Isn't a Bersa more or less the same as a Jennings in quality?
Jennings is now manufactured by Jiminez as the JA9 and JA380 and JA22 Anyone shot one? Edited to add: I just ordered and received 2 each of the 9 and 380 Jimenez pistols. Seem rock solid. I'm planning on running 100 rds through each. If they run well, I'll sell em, if not, I'll send the two I ain't shooting back and just screw around with the used ones until I get em running right. Worth a try at the cost. |

Bersa is much better than the Jennings crap. They are good pistols at competitive prices.

My Bersa has always worked with out a problem.They are made in Argentina.

no! jennings does not compare to bersa in anyway! i have a bersa thunder 380 and it is a good lil .380 pistol. out of the box i have put over 300 rds of hp and fmj thru it with no probs. only thing i don't like is that it comes with only 1 mag. academy had them for just under 200 bucks + tax. |

I heard they are made with Walthe tooling after a deal fell apart in S. America with Walther. Second hand story. I have had the Thundr .380 and never had a problem.

Wife and I have carried Bersa Thinder .380's for 6 years now. ALWAYS work well. We even used them to re-qualify our CHL the last time out, since that is what we carry.

I've started carring this around when I do not have my Glock19 on me. It does not cost too much so if it gets stolen I'll only be pissed not stroke inducing mad. Mine works with hollow points and is light enough and small enough to fit in my pants pocket. It might not be the greatest caliber for self defence but it at least satifies the first rule of gun fighting "have a gun"

By all accounts I've read the Bersa Thunder is more reliable than the Walther PPK which it is essentially a copy of. At less than half the price you can't go wrong. I almost bought one but realized it wasn't small enough to be a true pocket gun.

I have one. After about 100 rounds, the trigger bar will not engage the firing mechanism unless I apply slight pressure to the safety. I'm going to send it for repairs, but I'll have a hard time trusting it after this. I'lll be sticking with my 642 as a BUG.

Wow, thanks everyone. I think I'm going to get one. For $200 even if I got burned it wouldn't hurt so bad & like Mongo said, If it ever got nabbed out of the car or something it wouldn't send me into a fit.
