Is 105 degree considered bad weather?

You know if I am going to travel all the way to ASC, that I will have my .50. It gets real boring shooting it at 100 yards....Let's plan another get-together in August and I will bring it out!

Where is the 1k yd range?

I want to try my 30-06 at 300yd & 400yds just for grins.

There will be a 1k range at GunStock!

Remember, to shoot passed 300 yards @ ASC you must qualify. Using one of their 300 yard targets, five shots only and all five shots must be inside the 6" circle...seems pretty easy right?

Well my 13 year old was the only one to qualify yesterday.

Is the 1k yd range on the far right?  It didn't look like it was 1k yds.

ASC only goes out to 600 yards.

OK,

I thought that last range on the rt looked WAY too short to be 1k yds.

Ok, dumb noobie questions here. ACS is American Shooting Center on Westheimer Parkway right? Is that the best place in Houston shoot ARs? My lurking days will be over on monday as I am finally getting an RRA M4gery. I just didn't know where to go that was AR friendly. I have shot at ACS before but only my bolt actions. Also, is that a good place to try out IDPA or IPSC shoots? I have never done it before and I have a new 1911 that I have been dyin' to run through a course of fire. Thanks for your advice in advance.

ASC is a nice range and the only place around close that has a 600 yard range.  Great place for bolt guns.  But they won't let you really have fun with your AR.  No moving and shooting.  No rapid fire.  The ROs are kind of know-it-all types.

There is a nice range down by NASA called PSC.  It is a private range.

I shoot mostly at a private range near LaGrange called FCGC (Fayette County Gun Club).  You can do mostly anything there.

its where i shoot IPSC and IDPA.

the IPSC club is kind of dwindling though this summer, with only about 8 shooters really

but the IDPA is huge there
