I've had several goes on a .30 down at Bisley....
I've found racking an underlever is still far quicker than operating a bolt for competition...... But it is a lovely gun to shoot...

I concur with DaddyPig - Someone at our local club has one in .44. It's beautifully made and very accurate.
But, if you shoot other enfields it feels completely different. The bolt throw is shortened to suit the pistol (or carbine) ammunition, the mechanism is converted to cock on opening and there's a match trigger - If you're not looking for indoor Enfield training that's fine. If on the other hand you do want an unadulterated Enfield action for use on pistol calibre ranges, the Armalon might not be for you. I know that a local gunsmith was making pistol calbre enfields in .40s&w for a dealer based in Hertfordshire. I have a 9mm one
 Very very accurate! Yep I have two 9mm's (and not a unicorn in sight) Pasta offered to buy it back off me last year! Guess there is a demand, time to post on airgun bbs I think

I know that a local gunsmith was making pistol calbre enfields in .40s&w for a dealer based in Hertfordshire. He also did one in 7.62x39 which looked great fun to shoot on ETR ranges...

Target Sports Magazine did a feature on them and the .30 carbine round. Laurie Holland wrote the reviews and will give you a very honest review of the gun. I have shot one a couple of times and they are NICE
and accurate to boot....problem is they cost a bloomin' fortune as does pretty much touched by the Armalon hand. I have one of their .208 Remington based PR rifles......very very nice, very very accurate but very expensive. Laurie Holland often works at York Guns so if you needed some info you could probably reach him there. I'm sure he would be happy to have a chat. He's a genuinely nice bloke and has forgotten more about guns reloading that all of us put together will ever know.  |

Armnaleg is right its superb work, but sell the wife n kids 1st. I played with one oif eh earli ones back in 1990. Peter does nice work, but it costs.

Yes, they are very nice guns those pistol calibre Enfields but eyewateringly expensive. I wonder how much effort/grief o import a pistol calibre conversion kit for a shot out barreled No4?

Seems Armalon have stopped making all the pistol calibre rifles (not just the 45ACP as I'd previously heard) and are only making a small number of the 30 carbine rifles.
Think I'll move onto plan 'B' and get something else

You can try Special Interest Arms they've got the kits. I actually saw one from Century at Mary's Pistols in Tacoma WA today. It actually looked pretty nice. I nearly bought it. Still might talk myself into it if I'm not careful. It was in .45 and took 1911 mags. I believe that it was made for century by Special Interest Arms but I'm not sure. Priced at $350.

There is a bit of an obsession with sticking m4 stocks on darn near everything these days. Cetme, G3, Ak, shotguns, enfields, sks. Kinda strange really.
