Ase Utra "Jet-Z" CQB-QM suppressor.

Ase Utra's latest and best designed Quick Mount suppressor system for the AR series rifles.

The spring locates in the rear-most groove on the flash hider and then when screwed down, locks the can in place. The ratchet ring prevents it from vibrating loose.

I have to admit, it's a very well thought out design and I'm more than happy.

What's the noise suppresion like compared to a T4 AR?  I take it that you had a pop with it by now?

'Fraid not
Haven't had time, only picked it up yesterday and have been busy all day today.

I've seen Jet-Z's used before (in fact I've shot one now I remember and they are indeed quieter and have a different report to the Reflex series.

I do know that the T8 is somewhat quieter than the T4 (even though it really isn't noticeable) but the Jet-Z offers -32db reduction. And that's about -4db more than the T8.

And as I've found out Db scales are logarithmic so every + or - of 3db effectively doubles or halves the sound level

Did the quick mount mechanism come with it or was that a "special"?

I haven't seen the bayonet attachment advertised......... looks kind of handy though!

It's their latest variation on the theme.

I wanted to get one some time back, but when I rang Peter Jackson, he advised me to wait a while as there was a new and improved attachment systen coming out.

I also got in touch with Tuukka (he's a member here, do a search) Jokinen from Ase Utra and he too said to wait 'till the new design was available.

I've always wanted to have a QD type can as I'm not a big fan of unscrewing flash-hiders and muzzle brakes etc.

Sweet setup.  How are suppressors sold/regulated in the U.K.?

If it's for a firearm and not an air rifle, you must have authority for it.
To get authority you write to the police and tell them you want a sound moderator (in a specific calibre).
They ask you why you want it.
You tell them so that I don't damage my hearing or I hunt near a built up area etc etc.
They say OK and grant you the authority.
You go and buy the can.

Simple

The older versions were around £400 trade i think, which is way too much when you know someone with a machine shop that also understands moderator physics....

Still not fully built. He gets carried away on too many other projects, I think last I saw, he was still machining that whole upper from scratch.

The first CQB-QM models were introduced in late 2004, the design was then improved and the design as it is right now,  was finished in summer 2005.

The mount provides excellent alignment, provided the flash hider has the correct dimensions and is installed correctly.

Like mentioned above, the net sound reduction is better than on the Reflex model suppressors.

Told you I was getting one.

I think I should get a healthy commission on future sales
