I want something truly ridiculous for my rec/gun room.  Actually, ever since I drove through NM years ago, I wanted one of those Route 666 signs.  However, I'm not going to stoop to being a sign thief.

I understand that 666 is now 491.  Did they decommission these signs?  If so, anybody know where to buy one?

Thanks,

Mike

I don't KNOW if there was one there... but the first place I'd look is the Gas Pump Museum. It's on Route 84, north of Santa Fe.

It's a funky kind of place, full of old gas station & related memorabilia. Most everything's for sale. Can't find it on the Web; maybe the phone book has it?

Definitely a repro, as 24"x24" and 24"x30" are standard.  That one's a 12"x12", way too small for road use as per official standards.

Thank you, but the search continues!

Are you talking about the place on 285 in Embudo?  To buy something in that place, you have to leave an arm, a leg, a testicle and a credit card.  He's got some really neat shit, though.

Next time I go through there, I will stop and see if he's got one, how much he wants for it, and I'll post it up.

According to this, fraudulent sellers exist.

You're in WI, I'd go to a local sign shop and get a quote. They should be able to duplicate one that's dang close to the original....
