It's on private property, Forrest's parents, near Milan.

IIRC, the 'range' opened about 1100 last year.

A good time was had by all!!

Guys, I am calling for volenteers to take over the coordination and administration for this years event. As much as I would like to do it again, I just will not have the time that this event needs and deserves, between my 3 jobs and two children, I just have to admit that I can't do it all this year. I will get you guys up and running, and be there to for you guys to offer advise, from last years experience.

I have secured the dates and a  larger location, this event is going to happen, but it cant happen with out the effort from those of you who want it to happen. I have the guys from the Gun Barn 2 tactical on board this year, so lets make this event bigger and better than 2011.

we need -

event coordinator -  who can actually put the time in to administer a safe, and fun event.
support staff - assist the coordinator in coordination and task performance.
food and lodging
prizes and shwag procurement committee - this is a big one! to get started on ASAP, we need to compose a generic but personalized email to send out to site sponsers and other manufacturers and retailers. this will be a large responsibility with somewhere between 100 and up emails going out and managing follow-up communications. the email should include a link to the article that made google news last year, and a list of sponsers from last years event, and a link to the archived thread from after last years event with all of the pictures and feed back from attendees. any other ideas are most appreciated...........
RSO coordinator and rso's
local law enforcement contact so they are not suprised when the sound of freedom cuts loose bigtime!!!
Waivers -
I have entry/safetybrief wirst bands left over from last year.
we will have to charge for entry for this year to pay for the range rental / camping, and other expenses..........($500- for the whole range for the weekend) I am thinking $10/ person, (kids 12 and under free), and $10 for camping, (rustic).
sign-in sheet and personel to mann the entrance and handle the paperwork and accounting
food, grills and cooks, and everything that goes with it.......
set-up and clean up crews.
we want to have one range set-up as an IDPA-type big stage, all day, with prizes..................

are you still wanting to do a raffle like last year or just winning prizes via the IDPA stage?? also if who ever drafts the email to distribute to industry partners could make it available to everyone to send out and then copy the "designated" prize person that would be great. also if I have the weekend off I can handle photo / medical duties again like last year. industrial rescue has also offered to perform medical duties as well as bring some binary targets.

I am fairly new to this forum too! and the AR/M4 (but not guns or shooting, been doing it my whole life) and I went through all of the threads from last year and looks like a Great! time with Great! people. I have some blue barrels I can contribute and venison front shoulder, burger and hopefully some wild turkey! and some whole chickens (raised by a friend) for grills. Said friend has a farm around Chelsea-Manchester area where I often deeer hunt and can stay so, could help with set-up and clean-up. I'll sticky this thread to check for updates.
