Sounds as if we might be losing a public shooting range in Salt Lake - Hendrikson / Salt Lake Police Mutual Aid Association operated range in Parley's canyon. Without any apparent warning as of this past Sunday May 22 those using the range were informed there is no longer a rangemaster employed at the range and it is the intention of the SL Police Chief to close the range to the public ? Not sure how this works as the range is part of the PMMA operation. No further information was available to those of us who are annual members or the general public at large. There is an annual LEO event scheduled for this week but it is unknown if the range will open again to the public. This is a real problem for shooters as Holladay Gun Club is currenly being transformed into a much smaller area and may be sold and closed at any time. I would urge those with contacts with City Council members or officals to contact them and clarify the intentions of SL City with regard to the range.
