I fixed my AR's issue with the burst firing. Guess what IT WAS? NOT THE DISCONNECTOR!.. My new stock with Spring and buffer fixed it. The original was stiff at a half way point when pulling back. Everything ran perfect with my CAA stock. OMG STOCK PWNS!. and then i let ANARX try it and he broke the bolt holding the GAS KEY!.. HOW THE F*(&? .
One thing learned. If you let ANARX shoot your AR, He will break it. Ask ROTOR DEMON. His broke too. edit to add: I am now the proud owner of a single shot BOLT ACTION AR! |
You two suck! You were supposed to call me and wake me up! Grr... ended up sleeping the entire day...
I told him to call you!.. He breaks guns and promisses!!.. Good thing he doesn't Broke Backs.. |
There is your problem. There should be two bolts holding the gas key and they should not be made of plastic. |
One bolt is fine and the other broke. and THIS IS A REGULAR AR! CHEESE SAUCE!!! NOT THE CARBON!! |
lol.. hey remember we found out the key bolt was allready broken.. it just fell out when i was shooting it..
i dont know man i must have some kind of curse on me.. the key bolt was the problem on RDs ar as well.. lol now if it happens a 3rd time.. i wont shoot ANYONE else's AR.. this is getting nuts.. |
waiting for gackmans " Oh! Imagine that? Bushmaster gas key issues?
Can anyone Donate a Bolt Carrier to me for free.. with Gas Key on it. ?? "ME POOR"
ok fine.. sell to me cheap then. |
Anarx, I'm having second thoughts about letting you shoot my AR Saturday... Just kidding. I'm still on. BSW |
CMT has key issues...not bushy
Also it's a CARRIER KEY not gas key. |
I think it's an ASSGASKET! what you think now! MR. "PC"! |
Are you referring to your mouth....the ASSGASKET that is? |
You really want to mess with the Westside? |
I've always thought your screen name meant 'Wausau For Life' -- you know, that old life insurance slogan. I had you pegged as an insurance salesman. Gotta admit, you do kinda look the part. |
I'm just saying... I see a trend with them. I hear they fixed it... but I hear a bunch of BM gas keys seem to fail from time to time.
depends on when the bushmaster was made... |
Expensive auto, fancy clothes, every hair in place. That kind of stuff. Not saying you're 'slick'. It's just funny that I thought you sold Wausau insurance for, well, ever since I tried to figure out what everybody's name meant. When I met Nox I asked him how long he's been racing nitrous oxide. Then he scared me with what it really means. |
You can probably get one for cheap by trading all that crap I gave you at the party. It oughts just about cover a carrier. Too bad the gunshow ended yesterday... |
Gunkata - did it hurt the 'Fisher Price" logo on your BCG? Hope not, that's the best part of your rifle.
No, he's saying you look gay. |
Fixed. |
I'm glad Pink came along, because with all the homo talk in here I sure was left wondering. |
Ive met Hot Pink, and I'm STILL wondering! when he says things like "ya know, i kinda want to wear this on my shoulder". refering to his macho "suppressor bag" (gunshow man-purse). |
what are you talking about.. All the bushmaster parts you gave me are on my rifle now. LOL I do have extra crap now. Gonna stop at Phoenix after work to see about a new Key bolt and see if he can easy out it for cheap. |
This is probally why it broke in the first place and why it will brake again. |
What does an easy out being used on a broken bolt have to do with why it broke? |
What does cheap fixes have to do with broken parts???? uhhh....
Here's a quick run down so it's easier for you to "visualize", Pheonix works out the bolt...maybe gives him a new one. He installs it and you know he won't stake it....bolt works it's way out over the next few months...and his rifle is broken again....there's ONE way Buy a new carrier and sell the old one to some one that can properlly fix the key. |
My question was:"What does an easy out being used on a broken bolt have to do with why it broke?" Your answer was:"What does cheap fixes have to do with broken parts???? uhhh...." So, maybe you do not know what an easy out is? "Visualize " this WS, having someone use a friggin easy out to get a broken bolt out is the correct way to get it fixed, if he gets it cheap, all the better. Beings how your the know all on this, how should he get a broken key bolt out of the carrier? |
What do you Think Peta? Is he right? Should I go the way of the W$4LIF FORCE?
How do you know his carrier key bolt broke off? |
OR Buy a NEW one for $65-70, and sell the old one for $50! So $15-$20 and you have a NEW carrier and key!!! |
Because i have the bolt (SCREW) and the bolt portion is in the thread and the Hex had fell off. Me thinks that's good reason to believe it's broken the bolt.
FOR EVERYONE READING.. BOLT referring to the SCREW and NOT THE ACTUAL "BOLT" |
Ha... Screw that And as for..
I dunno, it was mentioned about a dozen times in this thread so far, bolt or screw, I think everyone in here knew what it was, no matter what it was called And as for selling it? Just my .02 but I think you would be stuck with it for a while trying to get rid of it. Not everyone can take care of the broken HEX HEAD FASTENER problem that you have |
Down to $45 now? Keep going and I may buy it. I do have the tools to get the broken piece out |
Just like other people who will pay $50 for it! |
And now your back up to $50??? No thanks! Gunkata, get er fixed bud. Your goin about it the right way, plus you'd be shooting this weekend if you wanted to |
I'll let WS answer that one, so we can all "visualize" it ETA: You don't really stake the key to speak..you stake the fasteners (or what ever the hell you want to call them) into the key so they do not work loose. |
I've never staked anything. What do you do? |
The carrier key screws are staked by making contact with the walls on the key it's self. This is done differently by each manufacture but the idea is to "punch" the side of the key with a flat sharp object to "dig" the metal into the carrier key screws. I don't ever do this because I'd rather just buy carriers with it done from the manufacture. |
I actually have a super charger on my mustang. I didn't like the idea of running out of go-go juice. |
And how does it drive? |
"TOP GUN ACTOR!" |
