What: rifle and pistol competition, night vision allowed
When: Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 10AM-5PM, camping overnight on Saturday allowed Where: Angry Emu Range near Madison, GA (see sticky thread for details) It’s time for another Redwolf 2 Gun Challenge. This will be “open” class so you can use rimfire or centerfire. @Redwolf started these a few years ago and they've always been a great time. We will start the morning with a safety briefing, range overview, backstop and target check. We will run 3-5 stages per shooter. As far as course design goes, I am open to any suggestions. As we've done in the past, everyone is encouraged to offer suggestions. Bring snacks, drinks, chairs, canopies, etc. as needed. Feel free to ask any questions or make suggestions. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to stay overnight the night before for campfire chats, check out NODs and camp if you want. Course: Shoot and move - multiple targets 5-150yds for both rifle and pistol. Will be some changes from the past as far as carrying slung rifle and holstered handgun since it’s 22lr and centerfire, to make course equal. Simple scoring of total time for each course with missed target penalties. Probably some exhibition shot to level the playing field between marksmanship and athleticism. Equipment: Eye and Ear protection. Any legal rifle and pistol. Who: Any safe shooter, family and kid friendly. Prizes: Bragging rights, a good time, and the elusive trophy Cost: Free, donations to the range are appreciated. This will also be a “meet and greet” if you’d like to come out Saturday evening & Sunday afternoon to spectate, chat, check out some night toys and enjoy a beverage (after guns are stowed and never near the firing line). Rain or shine we’ll be there. There are two outhouses on site and running water. You may also shoot whatever else you’d like prior to starting if you need to function test or sight in a gun since you’re making the trip out. So come out and get your heart rate up a little while shooting with nice people. Attendees: MisterTwo Saxplayer southerncross Knothead71 IHTFP08 0627Devildog YaBoyKGTho |

Mark me as tentative again lol
Provided we don’t have to work that weekend I should be there! |

I'm in if work schedule doesn't change.
I've never shot a 2 gun before. Can one of ya'll give me an idea about what I need, please? Would a battle belt work? Say maybe 3 mags for the rifle and 3 for pistol sound ok? |

Say maybe 3 mags for the rifle and 3 for pistol sound ok? View Quote Battle belt is what a lot of us run. 3 mags is plenty. A holster and sling can be useful too but not necessary. We've been running fairly low round counts each stage lately. 100-150 rounds minimum for each rifle and pistol should cover round count too. |

@MisterTwo
Thank you much. Great info. I'll get on putting it together this week |

Although its informal we can work around the absence of either by grounding if needed. could even do reloads out of pockets if needed. I think I used less than 2 full mags last time. I'll be there saturday night and camping. Maybe some new goodies too. SOT arrived over the weekend. |

@IHTFP08
Thank you, sir. I plan to be there Sat night as well. I'll have questions for sure. Lolllll! |

It's not looking like I'll be able to make it. I'll know for sure later.

Update,
Saxplayer will be there! I’m looking forward to meeting y’all! |
|
I'll do my best to sit 'round the campfire with y'all, some time or another, if, and for as long as, my "rosey red rectum" can allow.
FYI: That was my great-grandma's way of describing what our bottoms would look like if we didn't "jump to!" (about 55 years ago) |
|
I'll have a case of pmags for sale with me. if you need them, get them before the next panic. weird there hasn't been a major one since COVID has been around.

good to see these still happening! possibly in for september or october.

My plus 1 bailed...... Who all is showing up on Saturday?
Anyone showing up on Sat sticking around for an NV shoot Saturday night? |
|

FYI: I was just down at the range and with all this rain we've been having it's looking awfully shaggy down there. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to be able to do anything about it, so one or two of y'all might want to throw a lawnmower in your truck to whack out an area for camping and the staging canopy. Sorry I can't be of much help, but this affliction really SUX!

I won’t be able to make it Sunday (other shit got in the way) bu I’m going to try to make it out Saturday afternoon/evening. I’ve got a few rifles I need to zero and play around with my NODs for a bit.

Looking forward to an excellent Saturday evening. I'm planning to be there right after work, around 7:ish, give or take.

I just got in from work about half hour ago. Between the drive and fighting some allergy stuff, I don’t think I’m going to make it for anything tonight. I’ll see how I feel Sunday morning and go from there.
