Have killed two in less that a week. First one was in the road by the house. The second one was ten feet from the front door. My daughter was pushing my grandaughter in her minnie mouse car and ran right over it.

I agree. Removal of the head via shotgun or shovel or whatever, and the skin dried and stretched with brass nails makes a cool shadow box- maybe for that grand baby!

I lived in Arizona for 5 years and never saw a single one of the damn things. Move back here and it's copperheads and rattlesnakes at the a$$.

I do feel bad for that snake though in a way, nothing more embarrassing than death by Minnie Mouse car...

I'm a snake lover. But if its poisonous and in your A.O. it must be gotten rid of in the safest manner. And that happens to be from a distance with a gun.

The guy whose Dove field I In hunted this past weekend told me he had killed 15 around his house over the past 2 weeks.

I'd  take a that is a bit too many in my AO approach too

I honestly didn't know there were rattlers in GA, but it sounds like there is a lot of them.

I've heard and read reports of a lot of snakes this year. One reason being the earlier rain drove them out of their dens.

I like snakes, and won't kill venomous ones that are away from populated areas, but I'll kill them in residential areas.

What area?  I've lived in the N/NE suburbs for almost 45 years and never seen or heard of a rattler.

it does.  this is how my grandfather used to do it.
the alcohol is a drying agent and the glycerin is a skin protectent.

I've seen probably around a dozen rattlers in the 20 years I've lived in Buford & Braselton area.  Seen lots more on the old property I used to hunt in Taylor county.  They are out there for sure.  Ran over one with an F250 down at the hunting property.  Just pissed it off.  It had 13 rattles and a button.  BIG snake.  It lost its head to a .270.
