The tube is too short and does not have enough pressure to cycle properly.
I could get two or three rounds in a row before a malf if I was lucky.
They look nifty, but the ballistics suck ass also.

Yeah, I had a 11.5" and with 55gr FMJs I could hardly get them to exceed the 2700fps threshold. Mine ran well, but I ended up selling the upper and building a 16".

If you're just target shooting, they poke holes in paper the same as a 20" though.

It would be just for fun. I don't plan on using it for self defense, but it has to run reliably or it isn't worth buying.

Mine worked fine...

I put thousands of rounds through it before I sold it...

ETA:

If you're shooting IPSC competition, you won't make minor without using heavy bullets.

(The velocity is very low out of the barrel)

That's why I sold mine...

You could always buy one with the 16" barrel and install the sleeve style XM flash hider.  I have this on my Colt SP1 carbine, looks just like an XM.

HK_Shooter, you'd better specify...otherwise, they might mistaken me for you

Oh, yeah, Accountant30339, if you want to do as P806 suggested (16" with a sleeve) IM me.  I have a sleeve that looks like the 5.5" FH but actually fits on a 16" barrel just like a regular FH that you can have.

ETA: Added pic.  Also, I just looked at it...it won't be quite the same as a 5.5" since this one has actual FH slots and thus the threads are about 1.5" from the slotted end.  It'll make it look like you have a ~13" barrel with a 5.5" FH.

I had one of those slide over FH's on my CAR.  But when you put that chunk of steel on a thick barrel the weight of the front end does become a bit more pronounced.

If you plan on just holding it in the stand/shoot postion. It will get heavy.

On the other side the added weight does help keep the front end down and makes follow up shots a tad quicker due to the decreased muzzle rise.

I had one but swapped it out for a standard A2 FH.

I'll live the increased muzzle rise.

Got tired of the nose heavy condition when carrying it.

buzz.

I don't get it...if it HAS to be 16", then all 16" ought to be bbl.

You wouldn't shorten your 'you know what' and put an attachment on it to make up for the difference, would you?

Jeez...

.......and what a wonderful "dark side" it is. A wonderful place where we don't care about bullet weight, fragmentation ranges, and velocity a specified distances............it's just amazing what a 30 caliber bullet can do, if you do your part.

Anyway, I just have fond memories of Elvis wielding one of those firebreathers while robbing the casino. It always made me want one.

Is that for an HBAR barrel or a pencil barrel? Would it fit on a Colt LE 6721 or a 6920?

Amen! The dark side is strong! The AK's are more evil looking than the AR's, and no one is hanging a lot of stuff off of them either...................

It ia a two hour series on Discovery Times. There is another show  {I can't remember the name now}
They are about the civil war in Liberia. There is a lot of footage on the spray and pray method that is the favorite form with the locals.  AK's and RPG's.
The violence and brutality will amaze you. This one group of people made a checkpoint with the head and intestines of the guy they killed. If you wanted to pass through, they had to lift the intestines stretched across the street for you to get by.
It is truly a freakshow.

The threads are 1/2"-28, standard AR threads, and I mic'ed the hole at 0.751" so it should fit most regular profile barrels.

I don't remember the intestines part, but I do remember the rebels eating the heart from a villager they killed.

Prolly a faulty rifle.

If 10" is too short, then the whole SBR concept is faulty, and hundreds of PD's across the country and tens of thousands of gun owners across the country are putting up with jam-o-matics?

I don't think so.

I've owned a Commando, and now own an SBR. Both run fine.

I've owned one since 1989. Never had any problems with it except for running outa ammo. To date it has digested around 100K rounds.
