The red-dot on my Aimpoint sits just above my front irons. Is this what is called co-witnessing? Is this a good thing or should I get a mount that raises my Aimpoint a bit higher?

It's an Aimpoint AB Mount QRP. I don't have my BUIS site yet so I guess I'm not co-witnessing. My question is, does my Aimpoint need to be higher?

Here's pic:

The mount you have will put the irons in the center of the Aimpoint.  It is perfectly useable that way, but most prefer the irons a little lower in the sight window.  There is a spacer available for your mount that will raise the Aimpoint up a bit.  It's really just a matter of personal preference, though.  BTW, the object is to look over your irons when using your dot.  You would only use your irons if your dot failed.

Bradd, do you know where I can get a spacer?

Thanks.

Breycor, you can also mount the Aimpoint QD on a scout rail, this will give you the correct height and allow you to move the sight further forward.
