Social media SJW's are calling for a BLM protest in historic downtown Waxhaw.  My former restaurant is located there as are the businesses of many close friends, including a great brewery.  A good friend who purchased my restaurant is located across the street/tracks from the protest is a Navy Vet and is concerned about "outside elements" coming to disrupt what hopefully will be a peaceful demonstration.  

Any Union County locals want to join me in providing a quiet show of defense of downtown businesses?  I will be at South Main BBQ:  116 East South Main St in Waxhaw from 4pm-ish on Thursday.  

Bring your Hawaiian Shirts if you got 'em.

I’m trying to round you up a few on the local forum.

From what I am hearing, Thursday is a trial run for the real event on Saturday evening.  Can’t get the whole story.  Some say Thurs is organized by Charlotte BLM and some high school kids with some speakers.  They may or may not have approval of the police and mayor.  Local businesses to be affected knew nothing of it and the mayors office is silent with regard to the gathering although they are pretty vocal about shutting down businesses that don’t comply with the 6 foot social distancing rule.  

How do you have a mass gathering and have a 6 foot rule?  

I will update here as I learn more.  Looks like Saturday may now be the main event.

I haven't seen anything about the Saturday event, but many of the Waxhaw FB pages have been discussing it.  The Thursday event has many posts and someone even developed a poster/ad for it.

Chief of Police just announce it is moving down the street a bit to a parking lot and has issued a solid will arrest and use deadly force as necessary.  

For now it seems peaceful.  The County Sheriff has stated there will be NO protesting in his County.  Waiting to see what happens.  

Right now it seems like we might need to stand down as both city and county LEO will have HEAVY presence.  

I will advise as I hear more.

I wish I had an update.  Sheriff says nope.  Police chief says we will be out in force, any shenanigans will be met swiftly and decisively.

The Sheriff is indeed out in front of it.  That said, the NY liberal’s are all over social media pushing their everyone is racist agenda and Waxhaw needs to pay BS.   Saturday’s event is the one LE are concerned about.

Multiple Vehicles Burned and Vandalized near Monroe

Union County Sheriff’s deputies and Monroe Police officers, along with Monroe and Mineral Springs firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the 300 block of Dale Street shortly before 11:00 pm Thursday night.  Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered that three vehicles, including a Lexus sedan, a Ford F350 dually pickup truck hitched to a flatbed trailer and an 18 wheeler had been burned and vandalized.  The incident occurred just a short distance outside the Monroe City limits.  

Officers observed that “BLM” and “Black Lives Matter” had been spray painted in various places on the exterior of the vehicles as well as on the attached trailers.  In addition, officers discovered similar spray paintings on the side of the former Food Lion building nearby.  

The Union County Fire Marshal, K-9 “Camden,” along with a Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) and an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) responded and processed the vehicles and surrounding area for evidence.  It was determined that the vehicles were intentionally burned using bottles filled with flammable liquids, commonly referred to as Molotov cocktails. The interior of the semi-truck had minor damage but the passenger areas of the Lexus as well as the Ford F350 were completely destroyed.  Investigators determined that the registered owners of the vehicles often park along Dale Street due to residential codes or limited parking at their respective homes.
