I started to do a AK build a few years ago. Got so far as to push the barrel out and drill out the old rivets. Tapped the back of the receiver. I just don't have what I need here to finish it some 3 moves later. So I need to find a place that I can get to do the work. i'd prefer to keep it local if possible instead of sending it off.

I just can't seem to find anyone who does work on AK's. The guys I've checked with tell me they don't have barrel presses (Youngs Guns), don't know enough about the platform to work on them (Wendel gunsmith), or tried to explain about needing to install extra parts to make it not-FA (Hunters Supply??) then argued that when I explain that without an autosear there is no FA action.

I was going to post this in the thread a few down, but that was a little more general of a AK smithing question and I didn't want to get it overlooked. Anyone know anyone in the RDU area?
